Other Games 10/22 - 10/26

Referees in football this year have no clue what they're doing. Maybe they shouldn't all be 65 year old white nerds who never strapped it up.

Contact initiated into the guy's sternum, but since the WR was going down from another guy tackling him some of the contact ended up sliding into his neck area. So of course it's a penalty with the defender ejected.

#20 did exectly what he was supposed to do. 2nd man in using his shoulder/arm to dislodge the ball. Weak azz sh!t.

The rules have changed.

For better or worse the NCAA has decided a 10% chance at forcing a fumble doesn't justify a 1% chance at seriously injuring a player.

I think that's mostly a positive change, but it does feel wrong.

I’ve always argued that the word, targeting, implies an intentional act. That certainly wasn’t intentional.

I think what bothers me most about targeting is that I never know if it's going to get called and usually am unsure how it will go on review.

It's driven me crazy since the rule first became a thing. And one of the clearest examples I've seen was a "no-call" of CSU which would have changed the result to a Buff win at Folsom if the flag had been thrown. I want to say it was Scotty McKnight who got murdered on the play.
