Other Games 8/23

Good win by the ‘Bows. That said, Stanford needs to go Ivy.
Yes, I’m serious.
Stanford was having issues because of not taking transfers before the portal happenned, now they are at a huge disadvantage. NIL shouldn't be an issue, they have more than enough wealthy alums but the question is if the university is willing to participate the way the game is being played. I don't think they will.

They might fit the Ivy, I think more likely is that there will be a number of schools that have been in power conferences or close that will find themselves not fitting well.

It means giving up a lot of money but again a school like Stanford has the endowment and has the wealthy alums that make that TV money less critical.

Candidates to go with them might include Northwestern and Vandy (who may be kicked out of their conferences by re-alignment,) Cal, and some others. They may also add the service academies who also have that issue with not being able to play the portal game and I can't see them wanting to get involved in NIL complications.

They just need to be smart in recruiting. Plenty of players who will sign and stay when he and his parents see an opportunity to get paid top dollar for football and end up with a degree from Stanford.

Check x. It's there. 😂
