It usually is. Over the years just when you think someone is about to step up - NCState, UNC, Pitt, etc. - they end up losing to the most middling team in the conference

Just came across this crazy stat - USC is now 2-5 in B1G road games with their only wins coming at Purdue and at UCLA. And in all 5 of those losses they had a 4th quarter lead
