Other Games Thread September 1-4 (warning, big weekend, it's a long one)

I've lost count how many times in a row we've beaten CSU. Last night we beat a team we should have, they lost to a team they should have beaten. And they're creating a narrative that maybe their loss is more of a victory than our literal victory?

I'm not even annoyed, I'm thoroughly impressed by Ram fan.
CSU fan’s favorite argument against CU isn’t about head to head matchups, it’s about how CU isn’t Alabama

I had to go to wikipedia to look this up-but its 5 in a row. 4 straight by at least two touchdowns.

It's good to see Army off to a good start. They have two challenging road trips to Wisconsin and Liberty later this season but they could win 10 games this year.

Going to catch Lafayette-AFA and Montana State-Wyoming. Air Force is going to need to make sure their offense is going since they play @Navy next weekend on 9/11. Montana State could give UW fits and make the MWC's weekend even worse.

Don't Air Force and Navy usually play by at the latest early October? I know they're not next year-but I think that might be because we're going down there next year.

I have been saying all summer long that SDSU was going to beat CSU. I don't think they would have beaten the three other Dakota schools and there are at least three more schools from their conference that could have beaten CSU.

MWC could have another embarrassing loss with Montana State @ Wyoming today. That would be a sign of how weak college football teams are out west in general.

I think they made an exception for the 20th anniversary of 9/11 this year.

I remember that being a thing-but fbsschedules.com has that game taking place by at least the latest the second week of October all but once between now and 2027

I imagine that would be accurate since I think the service academies would have to line those games up in the future so the MWC & AAC would schedule AF & Navy's games around those games.

Will be interesting to see if Penn St just solved the Badgers' defense on that drive. Looked way too easy.

Air Force is off to an okay start. Leading 20-7 with a few minutes until halftime. Falcons could struggle against passing teams and their kicker missed a PAT.

One of Justin Field's former HS teammates Micah Davis is wearing #0 for the Falcons and he has been impressive today on the ground with two rushing TDs and caught a pass. They showed a photo of Fields and Davis celebrating a TD in HS.

AFA scorees with 18 seconds left in the 1H to go up 28-7. Not the most exciting 28 points but it gets the job done.

39 yards rushing for Stanford is shocking. Something is off in that program - maybe that S&C coach was their secret sauce!

Could be! That offense isn't that novel in the Pac 12 any more though-Oregon runs it like that, we try to, ASU does....you get where I'm going. Stanford doesn't get the athletes they were when Harbaugh was there.
