Other games weekend of 10/11-10/14

Thing is, as ****ty as WSU has played, I could see them winning this game easily if they could just quit ****ing themselves.

How much has Justin Wilcox made a difference at Cal?
Their defense is night and day from last year. Wazzu is gifting them everything and think Wazzu could still pull off 21 straight points at any point, though.

Cal's a lot better than I expected, and Wilcox has done a phenomenal job there this year. Still give us a SLIGHT edge against them because the game's here.

Cal is going to get a huge confidence boost by winning this game, but the story of this game is what Wazzu has done to lose this game, not what Cal's done to win.

Edit: except for that TD run, because that was insane.

Cal is playing with a lot of fire and energy, looks as much like what Cal is doing to Wazzu as much as it is Wazzu screwing themselves.

I'll tell you one thing - I highly doubt WSU gets to the Apple Cup undefeated, but even if they do, UW is going to roll them.

I'll respond to both this and the post of mine you quoted, Alfred-On this one, IF UW loses.......it'll be because they had an unreal mental breakdown. They've got more talent than anyone in the league (including at QB-I like Browning more than Darnold personally....much better decision maker) and they've got the best coach in this league, as well.

As far as tonight.....If this score holds....and WSU has shown nothing that leads me to believe they can come back and win this game, Cal will go bowling, and we might as well name Wilcox P12 COY now. They get Oregon State at home, and they'll get another win.....hopefully next week against Arizona-I think they've got a defense that can slow the Khalil Tate show.

WSU is a 9 win team with a win over USC that a lot of people overreacted to. No other way to put it. Do we have a chance going up there next week? No idea. Depends on what Cougar team shows up.

I hope it's this one.

The Pac-12 is very much a week to week proposition. I know people are skittish right now, but there is not a single no-hoper left on the schedule. Not that it means the Buffs are great by any stretch, but the difference between a 5-win team and an 8/9-win team is not very large.

Great post. Watching the Pac 12 this year, it is still wide open. Could see plenty of teams slide substantially from here on out. Big-blowout win this week and CU could be in business.
