Other games weekend of 10/19-10/21

That AFA game was a sight to behold.

550 yards rushing, 96 plays run, doubled up on time of possession.

Still had to win on the last play due to coaches making things harder than they had to be. AFA didn't have to throw a pass to win this game, but yet they tried to, and the two turnovers committed on passing plays in the second half kept Nevada in the game.

CSU squeaks out another. MWC is garbage.

They're playing with fire. They are or at least should be a lot better than Nevada or UNM. One of these days they're going to play like **** against a team that can make them pay.

I will say this though - that QB for the Lobos is a fast ****er. He doesn't run the option the way the kid at Air Force does, but when it comes to turning the corner, it's night and day.

Ok somebody answer me this question, asking because idk. Who started the we are and whatever the school is chant? Of course, I've heard Marshall do it but been seeing others do it now. Penn State was doing it earlier.

I remember reading a story a while back about James Franklin process for hiring assistant coaches, and he said one of the things he does is meet their wives/gfs because if they have great looks and personality, he believes the coach has the right kind of “sales ability” it takes to be an effective recruiter.

So basically what every coach, including Mac, says on their indtoructory press conference?

Petrino does it but he isn't worried about sales ability.

So he hit on all their wives to see how “committed” they really were?

Heh.

I think there is a difference between a coach joking about his wife while being self deprecating and a coach relating a potential assistant's recruiting ability to the attractiveness of his spouse. I thought the quote TScheck is referencing was weird at the time and think it is even stranger in retrospect.

Lamar Jackson... still fun to watch. Breaking ankles in Tallahassee.

Watching Texas - Okie Lite, and I want them both to lose so bad.

I think I'm still about 5 years away from having the same hatred for Pac 12 teams that I do for Big XII teams.
