Don’t have to wait long for a big game this week.

Thursday night we get (17) Louisville at (24) North Carolina State. Both teams 4-1 and looking to move up in the standings.

Unlike recent weeks the Friday games aren’t much to look at. Memphis at UConn and Boise at BYU. Other than enjoying seeing BYU lose not much interest here.

Only one top 25 match up on Saturday. (23) West Virginia goes to (8) TCU. (3) Oklahoma is still the favorite in the B12 and plays a 2-2 Iowa State team but the winner of WVU/TCU would be in a good position should the Sooners stumble along with (15) Okie Light who is off this week.

Some other interesting games include a stumbling 3-2 LSU visiting (21) Florida who was struggling already and lost QB Del Rio for the season last week. Lose here and the heat from the fans on LSUs Ed Ogeron will just keep getting hotter.

Texas A&M is 4-1 but the good feeling probably end as (1) Bama visits this week.

In a game that is usually hard fought when both teams aren’t good a good 3-1 Michigan state team goes to 4-0 (7) Michigan. This one is worth watching.

Less likely to be interesting is 3-1 Maryland going into 4-0 (10) Ohio State.

In the PAC12 (11) Washington State goes to 4-1 Oregon. Can the Cougs keep their dream season going after beating USC on national TV.

Also 3-2 Stanford goes to (20) 4-0 Utah. The Cardinal putting a loss on the Utes would help CU.

In games involving teams we like to see lose Notre Dame gets an easy one with 1-4 North Carolina. 2-2 Texas faces a tough 3-1 Kansas State team. (4) Pedo State goes to 2-2 Northwestern. Unfortunately Baylor won’t lose this week. They won’t win either as they have a bye to get ready for the rest of the well earned beatings they will take the rest of the year.

Locally Air Force has disappointed with a 1-3 start but for them a win this week at 4-0 Navy would make their season much more acceptable.

CSU travels to Utah State in a battle of 3-2 teams. Wyoming has the week off.

In the small schools

Northern Colorado goes to 1-4 North Dakota

In local D2

CSU- Pueblo took the top spot in the league beating Mesa 30-24 in Pueblo.

This week Pueblo host Adams State and Mesa host Black Hills State.

Colorado Mines host NM Highlands.

Tonight's game should be fun. Great battle between the DL of NC State and Jackson's otherworldly athleticism at QB.

I think LSU wins and cools Orgeron’s seat for the time being while warming up McElwain’s seat. Florida is without their 2 best WRs, their best RB, and two DTs and the line has quickly dropped to 2.5.

Wisconsin opened at -12.5 but it dropped to 11 @Nebraska. It’s a night game in Lincoln, which has a mystique to it, but I think Wisconsin wins handily and I’m trying to be impartial. They’re just so damn good on both sides of the ball and have a lot of film on what Nebraska does decently and what they do poorly.

Wisconsin just wears people out. They usually aren't going to drop 20-30 and have a multi-score lead at half, but over the course of the game they just grind the opposing defense down and play extremely stout defense themselves. They get my 10 point confidence pick in this week's pick'em.

And to the bolded... That's a ton of tape for teams to watch.

Other games weekend of 11/5-11/7

Is it November already?!?

Might want to get a mod to edit that. :p

Sitting at my favorite bar in Illinois with 5 colleagues, at a table in front of the State/Louie game, when someone changes channels to an NHL match. Worse yet, the match hadn't started yet -- we were watching pre-game hype! It was the Blackhawks, but still -- turning the channel from college football to hockey should be a capital offense. It should also be noted that the TV next to this one had the NFL game on already.

waiter comes by, we order another round and I ask him to "change the tv back to the football game". 5 minutes later, still have hockey on the tv. We might've been up to the anthem by this point.

"Hey man, the football game?"
"Oh! Let me get that"

5 minutes later and still hockey. Waiter returns.

"Dude, I'm disappointed. can you please get the football game back on?"
"Oh, I'll talk to my manager right now"

Fvcking 2 minutes later they change the tv..... to the NFL game. Which was already on the TV mounted 1 foot to the right!!! Oh, FFS!

I finally got the ACC game back on by taking it straight to the manager. I picked up the check for the table when we left at halftime -- dickhead waiter got a $0.01 tip.

Go Wolfpack!

Louisville needed to dispense with the pretense that Jackson is a pocket passer much earlier in the game. They allowed themselves to get too far down. Coupled, of course, with the complete inability to tackle.

their weaknesses at OL and on D are crippling.

Boise State (2-2) at BYU (1-4). This would normally be a game between 2 western programs that are Pac-12 quality teams, but both programs are in a rough spot that brings up serious questions about their futures. Trajectories are not good.

Sounds like that BYU/Boise State game was terrible.

BYU is awful this year. They're still looking for their first FBS win this season, and they're not likely to get it next weekend at Mississippi State.

Going independent was a real mistake on their part, imo. I think it was just a reaction move to Utah going to the Pac-12. They have steadily declined since then.

Gameday just mentioned Peterson’s comments about late games and basically said, “tough ****”. Herbstreit said he’s been the biggest advocate for the Pac 12 at ESPN and that the conference should be thanking them for showing the games at all, because otherwise, they’d be on at 1:30pm on the Pac12N which nobody watches. Hurts to hear the truth.
