Other games weekend of 9/13-9/15

I am.
Point being - a hometown hero, part of the glory days, brought in to bring their alma mater back to prominence. EXCEPT, they are too emotional about what they are doing for the position they are in to their own detriment.
Exactly. It's a tough position to be in to have it be your job as a former glory days hero to come back and try to rebuild your former program that's a mess. It's better if a nobody does that, the expectations are too high and the objectivity too low.

I still can't quite believe the entire CU fanbase really talked itself into believing that hiring 2 guys who didn't even have experience as coordinators to run the football program was an awesome idea.

I've got LSU plus 9.5, but think they've got a shot to win straight up. Drive killing personal fouls don't help, though.

I think a significant percentage did not think it was an awesome idea. It was just what we were stuck with so we hoped for the best.

Actually 3

In addition to Embree and EB we hired Greg Brown as DC. He had officially a year as a co-coordinator but in reality was not in charge of a defense before he came here.

At least he came out of the college ranks. In addition to having zero experience as coordinators JE and EB were coming out of the NFL and hadn't even been in touch with the college game for a few years.

But there was lots and lots of optimism because Embree said the right things and embraced things from CU history that HaLk had abandoned and abolished. There was definitely a feel good factor to have them here after HaLk's attempts to portray CU as some kind of special needs child that should be grateful to be in a P5 conference and had no history.

Not the entire fan base.

Will be fun watching Frost's post game press conference again this week to see if he continues to blame everyone but himself.

I don't get why Okie State is ranked top 25. Apparently beating Missouri State and South Alabama is enough?

More so how in the world did the administration and/or AD think it was a great idea. I remember Fowler talking about the Embree hire and he said it raised alot of eyebrows around the country.

I was there when EB and JE helped turn around around the program that was a laughing stock. A lot of us let that cloud our judgment.
