Articles after this weekend's 2 meets.
(With what looks like the last big regular season meets scheduled for next week (although there is what I assume may be a fine tuning option at the AFA on Friday the 5th for I assume mainly sprinters and field athletes), and Pac 12's only ~3 weeks away, assume everyone is rounding into their top condition to peak soon.)

GOLDEN - The Colorado track & field program put out a solid effort at the Mines Mini Meet on Friday with a new school record.

Matt Ward, still a relative newcomer to the team, seems to be enjoying his start as a Buff. Ward set the school record in hammer two weeks ago at the Kit Mayer Invite, also at Colorado Mines. He would do it again on Friday, winning the men's hammer and breaking his previous school record with a throw of 65.17m (213-10). The mark places Ward within the top 20 in the NCAA West region. Tyler Sconce also competed in the event, throwing 60.59m (198-9) to place second.

Amanda Opp placed first in the women's hammer, throwing 57.58m (188-11).

Colorado took the top two spots in the men's long jump. Nicholas Bianco placed first with a leap of 6.67m (21-10.75). Jackson Meyer jumped 6.59m (21-7.50) to place second.

Kara Lucyk jumped 5.88m (19-3.50) to take the win in the women's long jump with a new personal best and the eighth-best mark in CU history. Riley Burkey placed third with a jump of 5.32m (17-1.50).

For the second time this weekend and the third time this season, Matt Ward broke his own school record in the men's hammer with a winning throw of 66.33m (217-07). He previously set the school record with throws of 213-8 and his most recent mark of 213-10. Ward remains in the top 20 performers in the NCAA West region and moves into the top 35 in the nation.

Tyler Sconce also competed in the event, placing second with a throw of 59.13m (194-00). Lars Atkinson, Isaiah Bouchard and Ames Newman went 4, 5, and 6 for the Buffs in the event.

Preview in front of the 2 meets this Saturday.
(Although not noted in the preview article, a LOT of the top distance runners are also racing at the Arizona meet. Also, per the heat sheets (see link below), looks like the article is missing MANY other CU competitors, at least at the Arizona meet.)

Good to see that, at least per their schedule, the CSU meet does have video coverage planned. (Link at the bottom of this post.)

Meets day!
(Per the schedules, looks like action at CSU has just begun (1st field event starting at 10:00 and track race at 10:20 AM), while field action in Tucson is scheduled to start around 1:00 PM MT, with the track getting busy starting at 6:00 PM MT.)

Article after yesterday's action.
(With many PR's, I'd say the biggest highlights that jump out to me were the 4X400M men's relay getting very close (less than 0.2 seconds) to breaking the OLD (1994) CU record, and 400M hurdler Abbey Glynn, already #2 all-time in the CU record books, taking ~0.6 seconds off her PR to get even closer (less than 0.4 seconds) to Buff great Gabby Scott's CU record from 2019.)
