Pac-12 countdown

Wasn't he rated the top QB in the coutnry coming out of high school? Man he was fast, but just didn't live up to his expectations just like a lot of high profile kids we've gotten over the years haven't. I remember I think it was against A&M when he returned a kickoff and just got clobbered.

Jeremy was a great kid with a great work ethic. I think his problems at CU were two-fold: (1) Rick was not a good cultural fit for someone with his background (or mine for that matter); and (2) He came 6-7 years before the spread took off. He would have been a nationally-honored QB in a spread attack in my opinion. Football is a game of specialists and although some position skills translate across the board, there are certain positions in college, especially QB, FB etc... that require specific and unique skill sets that can be exclusive to certain systems. Jeremy was in the wrong place, at the wrong time, with the wrong coach and the wrong system. It happens more than you would think.

i TA'd a class my first year of grad school with some girls who had known Jeremy...one may have been his gf. don't remember. forgetting how it came up, but they said he was never happy here. he was a Texas kid and CU and Boulder weren't really for him. i used to eat at Taco Cabana for the year or so Boulder had one on 28th...and saw Jeremy eating there by himself more than once. in the middle of the day. Taco Cabana is a Texas chain.

i always feared losing Texans JW and Ryan Nunez (back to UT, decent career there) would really damage Rick and CU recruiting Texas. if you are an ATM or whoever recruiter going up against CU for a kid is it going to be easy to say "Texas boys don't like it up there...." and point to both those guys. while not something one could quantify, i wonder what the effects were...even after Rick?

Can we lock this work-of-art up and put in Classics? Do we even have a Classics forum anymore?
