So the latest victim of the typical PAC 12 over reaction to a (non) problem.
Washington State escapes against Boise 47-44. Normally not a big deal but Wazzou hasn't won a lot in recent years so the fans decided to rush the field. The PAC12 per policy fines them $25,000 and if it happens again this year the fine is $100,000.

I'm not a big fan of rushing the field and beating an unranked MWC opponent shouldn't be considered a monumental win but come on, $25,000 leading to maybe $100,000 if they win another one that get the fans excited.
I know we have paid some of these fines as have other schools. This one makes little sense. Let the fans have fun, make it a great experience and maybe they continue as fans well after graduation and potentially become regular donors.
I understand the safety argument but exactly how many players or coaches have been injured in these field rushes? Instead of trying to keep the fans off the field with a thinly stretched line of security why not use those same security people to create an on-field corridor for teams to exit through.
Shouldn't be a surprise though coming from the conference that can't figure out how to have competent officials calling the games. I'd venture that poor officiating is a bigger risk to players than fans rushing the field.
