PAC 12 Foolishness

Also as I stated before the whole idea of stopping fans (students) from rushing the field is ridiculous. Unless you want to build massive physical barriers it is going to happen. It is for better or worse part of the college game.

A much better approach is to develop ways to manage it. Instead of having security attempt to stop students from entering the field use them to funnel students away from the players, coaches, and officials. Create safe exit zones that allow those people to get off the field without having to force their way through the crowds then when they are gone (those who do not choose to stay and join the celebration) let the fans have their moment and everyone goes home.
 
It's CYA. Kids have been badly hurt. The conference can't be seen to be condoning it. So a policy and penalty is put is place. Welcome to the realities of a litigious society.
