Pac-12 Network on Sling TV

Hell yeah! I dumped Comcast's overpriced service and crappy customer service awhile ago for Sling. Sling is far from perfect. I have my issues with the design of the app on Apple TV (I assume the app is similar on other devices) and the streams drop from HD to SD way more often than with Hulu and Netflix, but the price is right and I am hopeful that both the app design and the stream reliability will improve greatly with a little time.

I think the fact that P12 is now available OTT without a cable sub actually helps DTV.
It's not really "OTT without a cable sub". You have to subscribe to one of Sling's basic cable packages and then add the sports package. I can't imagine many DirecTV subscribers doing that.

Actually, I been with DTV for longer than I can remember, and I am signing up for trial now that they have P12, FS1/FS2 and NBCSN on the same platform.
And the ESPN channels if you select the higher tier.
We are so close to the legacy providers collapsing at least in terms of their insistence to sticking to the legacy pricing models, but it is still a few years out.
Way I read it 25 a month.
20 for Sling Blue + 5 for Sports Extra (also incl ESPN, SECN, ESPN2)
for now (7 days) free trial, after that $20 monthly for like 20+ channels and $5 monthly extra for the sports package...I'm going the cheap route for now, not canceling Dtv. Do not think there is a way to FF RW or record, but not absolute.
I figure to go this route that's $100 for the season....Not to bad. One games ticket is that much or a bar tab at a local establishment well over $100 for 1 game.

plus the added bonus of picking up he first month of the MBB season that overlaps with the end of the football schedule.
It's definitely an intriguing option, if it streams without all the buffering and hiccups that you sometimes get with internet video. Any feedback on video quality during the free trial?
Does anyone have Sling TV? If it works, I am all in, but the reviews look atrocious.

Try logging into the P12 networks website on browser if it isn't down still. I know Sling logins work with WatchESPN.
For CU games you should be fine with that package, only sucks that it has no FS1.
Sling doesn't have DVR-like functionality where you can record shows, but when you tune in to live programming on certain channels it'll ask you if you want to jump back to the beginning of the show. Doesn't work on every channel. I guess they have different contracts worked out with various providers.
There is also on demand content for a lot of the cable networks. For instance, AMC typically has the two most recent episodes of shows like Fear the Walking Dead, Hell on Wheels, etc. available on demand. Not sure if Pac-12 will have on demand content on there. I haven't added the extra sports package that has Pac-12 yet and who knows if everything will be fully functional day 1.
Honestly, I do most of my TV watching on Netflix, Hulu and Amazon with no commercials. I also have HBO Now. I just have Sling for sports.

Feedback on Reddit seems like a mixed bag and a bit seems to depend on what device you use
I know it used to be atrocious, but it seems like they've worked out their kinks and gotten better. How good? I dunno, but if the Sling login works with Fox Sports Go and on the P12 website, you should be gold.
As I said, I have issues with it. It feels very much like a work in progress that I hope will improve greatly as it matures. It's owned by Dish Network so they'll have the resources to make it what it should be. My biggest gripe besides the stream quality that is inconsistent at times is that you can't browse the guide while watching a show. You have to exit back out to the guide. Pretty weak. From the little research I've done on Playstation Vue, it sounds like it has a better interface. It costs more and it's not on Apple TV as of yet so I went with Sling. I do have Playstations in two of my four TV rooms, but I have Apple TV in all four. (Vue is available for Roku, Amazon Fire and Chromecast in addition to Playstation.) If Pac-12 comes to Vue I might consider switching since you're not locked into a contract with Sling. It's strictly month-to-month with no strings attached.

I might give it a go. Does the 7-day free trial include the sports pack/P12 or just the basic channels? Might do the trial for the Idaho St. game, drop it after the 7 days, then subscribe just prior to kickoff of the Oregon game. Don't need it for Michigan week since Directv will have that on Big 10 network.
For all that we like to bitch about the P12 Networks distribution, things could be worse. The only way for Oklahoma fans to watch their game this week against Louisiana-Monroe on TV is a pay-per-view option through Fox Sports, and the price of the online PPV event is $59.99.

I have had SlingTV for almost 2 years, and it is a great value as long as you have a strong wifi signal. Also, NO CONTRACT so you can cancel after football season.
