Paul Richardson is entering the NFL Draft

Rec. Yards #5 1201 yards
Receptions #16 71
Avg/Rec #42 16.9 yards
Long #28 82 yards
TD's #10 9 TD's

The receptions, avg, and long are what are killing him in the stats.

I'd love to see PRich stay, and there's a chance... but it's pretty slim. Sure, Richardson is a bit smarter than the average cat. Maybe he does stay and get a masters from CU... but he's looking like a sure draft pick. Selfishly, I want him to stay... but as a Redskins fan... a team that needs receiving weapons and lacks a first round pick... I would be happy if he somehow ended up in Mike Shanahan's system.

No way Shanny kills the careers of first round WRs

Scout ranked him 100th overall as a draft prospect. That would make him a early 4th round pick. I could see him going as a 2nd rounder.

His game reminds me of antonio brown of the steelers (6th round) and Josh gordon of the browns (2nd).

Josh Gordon is a totally different beast. He has about 50 pounds on PRich. Antonio Brown is a little shorter than PRich, but a pretty good comparison. Regardless, I'll be very sad to see PRich go and I think it is the right decision for him to leave now.

Yeah, I hate to say it, but PRich should bolt after this season. I really wished we had better teams and better depth while he was here -- he could have done some return duties. That would have helped his draft stock a bit. Regardless, some nfl team is gonna fall in love with his speed and athleticism (I think he'll go third round).

For college players at his skill level, the NFL is the ultimate goal. College is just the audition. He's passed the audition. No reason to stay and risk getting hurt again. I think he's got work to do make it in the NFL, but he's more than ready and will go 2-3 round.

Shudder to think of 2014 without him.

The money is better in the first round. If he's playing a staring role on a re surging CU team and he adds more muscle will that move him into the better pay day of a first round pick?

Judging by some of his tweets the past few days, I think P-Rich is really struggling with this choice. He is as loyal a buff as we have had in this program for some time, and I think he feels obligated to see the job finished, but at the same time I think he is seeing his opportunity in the NFL growing. Tough choice.

I'm conflicted too. I want him to succeed in the NFL, but we are looking much more likely as a bowl team next year with him.

I'm not conflicted, because I don't expect him to stay. I think the best thing for him to do personally is enter the draft and so that's what I expect him to do. No reason getting my hopes up for him to stay (of course selfishly I would be ecstatic if he did come back) when I can't see any reason for him to do so.

Nobody is having a harder time with this decision than me. It's really tearing me up.

All due respect - don't be naive. His goal has been the NFL all along - he is having a great year to set himself up for that goal. I don't really think he is conflicted at all.

You are Johnny Cash cake high.

Paul Richardson

I didn't know Cocaine Blues was a cover. Or the other 100 great Johnny Cash songs either. But I understand you just wanted the reaction in this case.

Hating cash is like flag burning while singing the fusker fight song.

Don't know anything more about him than what I have seen in the media and read here but I get the impression that PRich is an intelligent and thoughtfull guy who will not make the decision based on a whim. Either way I would be shocked to see him handle the decision with anything less than a lot of class.

As a Buff fan I would love to see him come back for another year but he has given us everything we could expect out of a player. Stay or leave I support him fully.

I should have added in the Prich tweet thread that I don't think he's going to get much bigger. He has had 3.5-4 years of lifting at the college level and while he will prob add another 10 lb in NFL prep IMO he's never "bulk up" as some people have suggested he will with another year here. I'd say his body maxed out early and another year just exposes him for injury. Run like the wind to the NFL young Buffalo!
