Cal & Stanford can go screw themselves for all I care. I’m not worried about this super league being nixed. If the PAC-12 is to remain intact with the 10 schools, the eight schools need to tell those two it will be on their terms or get lost. That might be a message the Mountain schools are trying to send to those two by talking with the Big 12.

If I’m commissioner, my first call is going to BYU. They will spice up this conference like Nebraska spiced up the Big 8. Just look at how many MWC & WAC schools hated them. CU fans will hate them too no doubt about it.

Boise State needs to be put on a membership plan by the P12 to get to where they would be invited to the P12 when they meet certain criteria. That might need to be a 10-12 year plan but those games against the PNW schools will be fun after they get the invite. They already have bad blood with Utah after an incident at a Las Vegas Bowl banquet or something like that. They already have a rivalry with BYU.

San Diego State would be my second call I make. They have a rivalry with BYU and those two would be USC & UCLA’s replacements. Their fans can’t handle the sway that the MWC Front Range schools have in the MWC and on the MWC Board, they were not happy they lost to CU. They still might carry over that attitude against the Front Range schools.

That brings me to CSU. If Utah-CU took off like I hoped it would, i would have no need to say CU needs to be in a conference with CSU. This talk from me ends for good if CU joins the B1G. CU fan arguments against being in a conference with CSU is starting to ring hollow And I think that reality is much closer to realization.

Since Boise State would not be ready, Air Force could be a football only member with an opportunity to join full time. I think AFA will ultimately not join and would leave once Boise State joins.

Frenso State would be on the same membership plan as Boise State. Their football stadium needs to be spruced up and would be a condition towards PAC membership. I think academics need some work too.

UNLV is #4. Every conference needs a bottom feeder.
Stop. The Pac 12 is on life support. The only question who gets to the be school(s) who tell the doctor to turn off the ventilator.

The pac & big 12 will merge. The acc will split evenly into the sec and big 10. This will happen by 2030.

Maybe but I was thinking Miami, Florida state, Georgia tech and Clemson for starters. Either conference would be stupid to not try for duke and north Carolina too just for basketball

Wake Forest wouldn’t get into the B1G since they are not AAU. Georgia Tech is AAU as is UNC & UVA. Duke & Pitt are also AAU so that is five ACC schools who can hope for a B1G invite. I think GT, UNC, and IVA would actually get the invites in that case.

Big 12 has KU, ISU while PAC-12 has CU, Utah, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Cal, and Stanford in that regard. Any non-AAU would have to hope for that SEC invite.

The hope is the Big 12 becomes the third super conference and the ACC a fourth super conference.

They won’t split evenly because half the teams don’t add any value to the conferences
It was an over simplification but your point is wrong regardless. See AAU below, but also: the only thing Ucf and Houston offer the big 12 right now are good looking women. When luke F leaves for his payday, Cincinnati's contribution will be meth. The only successful school post realignment, that comes to mind, is Utah. All former big 12 schools suck, and tcu & wvu aren't great. The only contribution these confrences care about is $

I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong about the ACC but that's just my prediction, don't care either way.

Your point stands but Nebraska got in. Additionally, Syracuse was AAU until a few years ago. If I were to guess I'd say the schools going to the big 10 are Kansas + something similar to what you outlined + one non aau school- Syracuse, va tech, wake or BC fit the 'academic' mold
No they won't merge because nobody wants WSU and OSU and they would prefer not to take Cal.
Their choice is between irrelevancy and failure or 7 schools we like plus their annoying little brothers and success...the choice is easy. They might not merge in the end, but it won't be because wsu and osu were deal breakers. It'll be BC the rocky mountain + Arizona schools didn't want to be left ass in the wind waiting on Oregon & Washington's decision to **** us over

They say bye have a good time because those schools don't bring the money, they don't generate ratings and thus media value.

Merge two conferences and you take the good and the bad.

Form a new conference out of selected members of the old ones and you can leave behind the ones you don't want.

I changed what I said, I meant they'd want to get out before things in the pac got bad and left them with no options.

1. We better hope the big 12 would want wsu money BC their books look real close to ours and their viewership blows ours away. All things considered, we're pretty equal in profitability. 2. The teams they're bringing in make less than wsu. Not sure how accurate these articles are but schools like cinci make osu money at best, often below.

The way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised to see confrences that are 20-24 deep. That would basically eliminate ooc and cross divisional games but let's say you're right and they dissolve both and create a new conference. That's 4 power conferences... with 65 traditionally "power 5" teams I don't see why schools like osu would get left behind considering the teams moving up aren't much better, if at all

I really don't understand why the B12 is considered better. I guess the fan base is more energetic, but the teams left all suck ass.
What the Pac-12 has taught me is that the level of pressure to deliver great football from conference members matters. A lot. You can't be the conference that airs volleyball or softball instead of football signing day coverage or you die.

I see 5, maybe 6 schools of value in the ACC. Clemson, FSU, Miami, UNC, and UVA, and possibly Louisville.

Remember that a lot of the ACC was thrown together in an attempt to stave off being destroyed. Syracuse, BC, and Pitt offer nothing. Wake and GT offer nothing. VA Tech is little brother to UVA (sorry Hokie), NC State is little brother to UNC, and Duke is the Stanford of the East Coast with better basketball.

ND stands alone as a separate entity.

I could see the 3 southernmost schools going to the SEC, the Big Ten making a play for UVA and UNC, and ND finally going to the Big Ten.

Let's hope the SEC not being a poll option goes down as a legendary AllBuffs reverse jinx. 😂

Lol well it had 4 options but some mod I assume with too much power added option 5. 🤷🏻‍♂️ SEC would be weird and legendary but a punch you in the mouth, run it down your throat CU in the SEC like be fun as hell if we were good.

Kinda makes me wonder what happens with scheduling. We have Florida, Missouri etc on OOC scheduling. They playing those games if we’re in a dead conference?

Then the game gets what it deserves by destroying itself. This wont end if we join the Big10 either.
Remind the bigs in the B1G that 'carrying everyone else' most often means 'beating everyone else'. Trading dollars for W's is how it works.

If CU is in the SEC, I want to see CU play Arkansas & Mizzou from the Ozarks and Tennessee from the Smokey Mountains.

And I’d enjoy the SEC because opposing fans will hate losing to a liberal school that isn’t afraid to be different from the rest of the group.
