Good article Kiz, Jack Graham is right. The problem isn't Denver or Mile High. It is that BOTH schools have terrible programs. I'm not sure what 'buffedup' is talking about as Graham never blamed cu for the game's ills. He said both teams are down and that shows at the ticket office. If CSU returns to being a winning program, like when Coach Lubick ran the show, the enthusiasm of CSU fans will return as well. It's been 10 years since they've had a good season and the fans need a shot in the arm. Great hire in McElwain, now they need to build the stadium and get after it. You simply need to go back to the late '90s to see that Hughes was standing room only. Coach McElwain will get them back to winning and at that time regardless of the location, CSU fans will support the Rams.
I do however want to mention something else that effects attendance. I've talked to 4 or 5 people in just the past week who said they don't go to the game anymore because of what they feel is an obnoxious and unsafe atmosphere. Each said they wouldn't take their kids there again because of the abusive crowds. That, buffedup, I would blame on the cu kids. Drunk and abusive is being kind. Really no different than what I've witnessed at Folsom and I think if you ask any visiting fan, they'll tell you the same. It's the usual thing where a 10% of the people are causing the problem - unfortunatly that 10% are so overboard that it makes it look like 50%.
