I've criticized an other school for deploying the tactic of delay, delay, delay + deny, deny, deny.
Fortunately the deny piece isn't giving anyone heartburn as it relates to CU. But the silence combined with the delay of MacIntyre's contract has created bad optics from the perspective of talent retention. Professional reputations are being held in the balance. Keeping this in limbo is not good for continuing growth of the program, recruiting and foundation relationships with donors. The fan outreach from MacIntyre and George have been at a 4-year low, and we all know why that is.
The delay piece certainly is troublesome. This investigation simply can't remain a distraction as we get closer to fall camp. Resolve this already and move on.
We need to hear Benson say "No matter where the facts take us, this university can do two things at once. We remain commitmed to sustained excellence in athletics and we are capable of properly addressing the stain of domestic violence and sexual assault amongst our students, faculty, and communities where we live, work and play."
Unfortunately this combo of silence plus waiting for months and months for this to resolve is becoming more toxic all the time.
