I’m 27 and I have never hated a team more than Nebraska. I have always been a huge college football fan though so I understood rivalries way before I stepped onto the boulder campus. My mom went to CSU so I do actually root for them when we aren’t playing them and I don’t treat them as a true rival because they can’t compete with us in anything other than local breweries.

I grew up a Buffs fan. I was in Folsom as a student the last few years CU played the corn in the Big 12. While watching the RMS with my dad growing up we always wanted to Buffs to win, but there wasn't any hate for them imparted upon me. All the vitriol was for the corn. I've hated them since I knew what football was.

The hate for little brother didn't begin until I had to interact with their fans. I have nothing against the academic institution of CSU nor do I particularly care about their football team either way. But I do not like their fans.

I grew up in Texas watching the UT vs A&M rivalry game. In high school, most people chose a side even if they had no connection to the schools.

I never really saw the same type of rivalry at CU while I was there (2008-Dec 2011). CSU games were fun and challenging during those years, but they still always felt like little brother.

I started to get the hate for Nebraska after watching ESPN’s docu “The Gospel According to Mac.” This game took it up another notch for me. I banned red from being worn in my house the whole week of the game. My wife was even into the game, and she’s usually uninterested in football.

This game definitely showed me who our true rival is.

I am 21. My Dad is a CU alum. I grew up bleeding Black and Gold. I may go to the University of Wyoming, but my true love is the Buffs (Sorry Madi).

I learned at an early age going to Buff games, that as long as we beat CSU and Nebraska, it is always a good year. I hate the Rams but I hate Nebraska even more. F*** EM ALL.

I may be young but I miss the old Big 12 games, this game meant so much. I hope the other young Buffs, will grow and appreciate this old fashioned hate for these teams!
