Races thread- Cross Country (#3 women/ #8 men) at 2018 NCAA Championships (Sat., 11/17, 9:45 AM MT)

Men showing in 3rd at the 2K mark of their 10K race, but it looks like from the splits it's still a pretty big pack, so doesn't mean much one way or the other. (Not a great sign for a top finish that it looks like their 4th and 5th runners already back a bit.)

Herrera and Gonzales having a slow second split... the first three in the top 10...

Let’s hope for that late Wetmore surge...

No one is going to beat No. Arizona today. They are doing what CU women did... 6 in top 30 at second split... on a four second spread... wow

Still impressive at the 4K split- 3 Buffs still in the Top 10. It's spreading out some, but looking at timings still doesn't look like any lead group has separated itself at this point.

Smith taking over our fifth scoring spot and surging a bit. Long distance to make up.

He’s going to need to pass close to 40 in the final 2k to get us to podium. That’s an improvement of about 15 seconds though. Doable.

Buffs still showing in 5th at the 8K split. Hopefully their 4th and 5th have something left to make some passes.

Hoping we'll get some interviews soon. (Hopefully from other than Flotrack, who has sometimes this year put even short video interviews behind their pay wall.)

Congratulations to Dani Jones and the Women's Cross Country team on winning the National Championship today! Two on the same day!!!

Congratulations to the Men's Cross Country team on taking 4th place. Well done.
