The Colorado Buffaloes dipped back into the muddy waters of the Allegheny River to pull another huge catch for Coach Prime. After taking Samuel Okunlola from Pittsburgh and Pat Narduzzi (who doesn’t like a lot of people, including Deion Sanders), the Buffs took the other 2023 starter at the defensive end position, Dayon Hayes.

Hayes made some waves as he left Pittsburgh in April, openly questioning Pitt’s ability to win RIGHT NOW. After making those comments, people expected him to go to serious national championship contenders. That’s a testament to his talent and production, but he ended up going to the most unconventional program in the country right now.

Hayes started for Pittsburgh last year and produced at a high level for the Panthers. He totaled 45 tackles in 2023, with 4 sacks and 4 pass deflections. Hayes led the team in tackles for loss and was second on the team in sacks (Okunlola was first). He is a senior with one year to play one, so he wants it all this year.
