Booker had a good response in his ESPN2 interview...don't matter if ranked or not...just gotta get ready for next game

**** Baylor is still only 18 in that USA Today poll. Kentucky is 10th. God the Coaches poll is dumb.

I shouldn't even be upset about it, but **** the coaches poll (or at least those that didn't vote for CU). Michigan has absolutely no business at all in the Top 25, with 3 losses, including one to Charlotte. Despise Baylor, but they are ranked low considering their only loss is to Syracuse. Also, screw Kentucky and all the SEC coaches that voted for them despite them looking like complete dog ****. It's going to be funny to see them still in the Top 25 with 4-5 losses a few weeks from now.

Being ranked does matter, so let's stop with this "doesn't matter" crap.

I think everyone wants us to be ranked, it just loses its significance if it only lasts for a week or two. Some of the rankings also comes down to reputation, and a team that is in the rankings consistently is more likely to start the year in the rankings as well

Maintaining a ranking is more important than just getting there, I completely agree. Much of it is based on reputation, but can't ever start developing a rep unless you get ranked. The exposure is a big deal, IMO

Being ranked consistently helps sell the program to recruits. Couple rankings with Sweet 16 appearances on a consistent basis and CU will become one of THE programs in college basketball as compared to a good program like it is seen as right now.

That is why the Okie State game is so important. Build off the Kansas win and put the program square in 'the talk' for college basketball coming out into January when college football is over and basketball becomes the focus

The Okie light game just became a very, very important game. Going into the season, I think most of us looked at that game and said it was going to be a nice RPI boost, but that we probably would finish the OOC with two, possibly three losses. Well, now we're staring at the possibility of a one-loss OOC and a national ranking going into the conference schedule if we win that game. That's heady stuff. That's really, really heady stuff. Like "We've never been there as a program" kind of stuff.

Is it possible there is some Tad envy from some of the old-school coaches? Maybe Tad hasn't paid his dues and joined the fraternity yet?

Coaches pay little to no attention to games outside their respective regions. That's all there is to it.

I'm eagerly awaiting Gary Parrish's Poll Attacks column this afternoon. I'd expect CU to be featured prominently considering he has us ranked #13...

Why don't coaches just vote themselves number one, it's what I would do.

They throw out the highest and lowest ranking. They also show what ranking they throw out. What's really puzzling is that KU's lowest ranking (i.e. the one that was thrown out) was 13, yet they are ranked 13 overall. That must mean that EVERYONE ranked them 13th.

We have enough votes, to be #27 technically, but since they only look at the top 25 we are unranked.
