Let’s see if I get this straight, you want him to win big, so CU does good? I’m following so far. But you wouldn’t want a coach who won big around? I don’t follow.
Your reading comprehension isn’t as bad as you think!

Oh, and breaking their starting QB in half who was absolutely destroying us.The adjustments were mostly just getting players to settle down. A lot of the mistakes from the defense in the first half were due to over pursuit and some bad arm tackling. They played smarter positionally in the second half.
I still don’t get why you wouldn’t want a guy who won big around. Sure you hate Mac. But if they win, you keep him. It’s prefty simple sports philosophy.Your reading comprehension isn’t as bad as you think!
All things considered that's probably Eliot's finest game as a Buff.Lots of credit to Coach Chev for figuring out how to move the ball when you can't run the ball or protection your QB. Credit to Coach Eliot for finding a way to get stops when you can't stop the run or generate a pass rush. Adjustments were huge in this one. Our coordinators earned their game checks.
5-1 vs CSU
1-0 vs Nebraska
17-11 from 2016-current after rebuilding this dumpster fire of a program. Some of you need to cut the crap and realize what's going on.
This. Settle down, folks. It's not like they changed scheme. The adjustments were mostly just getting players to settle down. A lot of the mistakes from the defense in the first half were due to over pursuit and some bad arm tackling. They played smarter positionally in the second half.
I’ve been a Mac supporter throughout his time here and have defended him on these pages, but I have to say I’m getting a little tired of him tearing up after big wins. I can see maybe at Oregon in ‘16 but we are past that. Time to act like you been there. We are no longer a feel good story.
I didn't really think adjustments were really Mac1's strong suit, either.
I couldn't believe the change in the second half on offense and defense. Suddenly we could move the ball again, and we were making stops, too. Just great adjusting at the half.
Agreed. It may sound sacrilegious, however, McCartney really was not good at adjusting. This truly is interesting to see.
If he was, maybe we could have won in Lincoln in 1994 when we were the more talented team, but the Nub gameplan was to put it all on Kordell's shoulders, and he folded like a cheap tent.

And we could not cover the tight end slant or in the flat and did not adjust at halftime. If he was, maybe we could have won in Lincoln in 1994 when we were the more talented team, but the Nub gameplan was to put it all on Kordell's shoulders, and he folded like a cheap tent.
We won't see an OL/DL like that again this year (ASU's DL looked pretty good though). Our OL might average 20 # less than NU's OL. We need to add some carbs into the program IMHO.I think they challenged the lines to up their physicality and they responded. N was big and physical but I don’t think they were so much more physical than us to explain the first half. We haven’t seen anyone so physical since the bowl game w OSU I’m thinking...surprised them IMO.
I think he did a great job adjusting but I sure hope that wasn't his finest game. We did give up almost 600 yards and 250 yards rushing in the first half. All things considered that's probably Eliot's finest game as a Buff.
Take heart, Luko. We haven't historically had too many coaching staffs who could make adjustments on the fly like this. Also, his call on the last play was ballsey and totally the right play for the personnel. Bringing the house like that made that work.No ****, me either. Let's just say my remote needs a replacement. I put it back together, but some of the numbers don't work now.
I agree man, just an emotional game. I don't doubt Mac knows what he's doing. I'd think you agree the trenches need work, yes?Take heart, Luko. I do. We are still awfully young at key positions and have had some injury issues there even before these guys hit the field. I also think this is a line made for the PAC 12 and not the Big 10 (14). If you look at a Nebraska or Wisconsin, those guys are made to wear out big DL's with the run. I think our guys could all use 10-20 more pounds of good weight but they also need to be able to get to the second level and get on 220 pound LB/Monster Backs. Wisconsin defenitely gets those big boys upfield but if you look at it, they are running inside zone and blasts a lot. I think we'll progress and have a lot of young talent on the line. I'm biased but I really like Klayton Adams. He knows what he is doing and is getting his guys into this system finally. Remember, this is only his 3 year with the OL. Bernardi had them before. I think they need to talk to their nutritionist as well and see about getting some carbs on these boys. They don't need to be 10% body fat. I'd like to see some strong-men bodies out there.I agree man, just an emotional game. I don't doubt Mac knows what he's doing. I'd think you agree the trenches need work, yes?
