RG needs to move quickly.

I was thinking $3 million including the academic incentives. But, I think we’re pretty close...

Oh yeah, incentives would make it well into the $3 million range, I was thinking majority of the base is $2.1 - $2.6

Cristobal and the Ducks agreed to a five-year contract with a base salary of $2.5 million each season.
Cristobal will also earn $250,000 by playing in the College Football National Championship Game, $200,000 for the CFP Semi-Finals, $175,000 for a CFP Bowl outside of the Semi-Finals, and then $100,000 for any other bowl game when the Ducks have at least seven wins.
Other performances and academic incentives in Cristobal's contract include:

- $500,000 for winning the CFP National Championship
- $150,000 for winning the Pac-12 Championship
- $100,000 for winning the Pac-12 North Division
- $100,000 for nine regular season wins
- $100,000 for ten regular season wins
- $200,000 for 11 regular season wins
- $250,000 for 12 regular season wins
- $100,000 for an APR academic grade of 985 or greater
- $25,000 for the Pac-12 Conference Coach of the Year award
- $50,000 for the AP or Walter Camp National Coach of the Year Award

Danas buyout is not 2.5 million or less. It may be west Virginia but they know the value of $. the buyout is $7.1 million--- or perhaps the 8.1 million that WVMETRONEWS reports in its printout following Dana's contract signed in December 2017 and reprinted a few days ago. Easy to look up on line as they printed the key terms of the public contract.. The real bottom line is CU wish to pay it?

you can believe what you wish and and as someone who likes his style of play like going for 2 its to win the game with 16 seconds I know CU would be happy to have him and if it works thats way great for CU but,,,,,,,, lets not just blow $21 million plus on this guy when he is a marginal choice and their are better coaches more than ready and we can use $ so many better places that we really need from asst coaches to facilities and more.

I wasn’t even talking performance incentives. Colorado pays $300K per year just for academics. I think $2.9-$3.1 million is the total number.

If you can find the information so easily on the line, do you mind linking a source? You’re not a credible enough of a poster to just tell people here to google it. I also assume you are a WVU fan nervous about losing DH.

Dude I posted a link as a response to you that said it was!

Uhhh.... that link... I'll highlight.

or perhaps the 8.1 million that WVMETRONEWS reports in its printout

If you notice, after amazonaws.com ... immediately following it says wvmetro. Not sure where all this confusion comes from.

A also added the screenshot.

Not sure if trolling, or just an imbecile.

I don't think you understand how buyouts work.

If WV fires DH, they owe him $7-8 mil.
If DH quits WV he owes them. $2.5MM (going to $1MM on Jan 1).

CU does not owe MM a $9.9MM check today. They owe him $3.3MM a year for the next three years, which is reduced, dollar for dollar, by whatever his new coaching job pays him. And he's contractually obligated to try to find another coaching job.

Seriously, USA today is written at a 7th grade level, you really shouldn't rely on them for nuanced legal contract details.

You are a ****ing dumbass that can't read. From http://wvmetronews.com/2016/12/03/report-holgorsen-extension-finalized-through-2021/:
Should the school fire Holgorsen during the 2017 season, it would owe him more than $11 million. During the 2018 season, the buyout drops to around $8.1 million. Should he be dismissed during the final three years of the contract, WVU would owe him up to $6.9 million.
If Holgorsen leaves for another job, he would owe West Virginia between $1 million and $3 million depending on his departure date.

If it gets done, I am all for it, anything equal to Mac is a value based on the past 6 weeks. Scenarios for all other candidates seem to be a tough road based on our head start, recruiting importance placed on this hire, and other factors that RG stated. Babers and Holgerson are likely able to use our interest to just get raises, so a total waste of time.

Washington loses, it gets done really quick
Washington wins, then it gets done after the PAC12 title game as Pete K can run their defense in the Rose Bowl

Eh. Doesn’t excite me. His wife does though, amiright??
That's what I'm talkin bout. ... but seriously, yeah he didn't really take Arkansas to the next level, but he took them to three bowls in five years, and his Wisconsin teams won two more conference titles than Barry Alvarez's teams, in less than half the time.

Three bowls in five years?????? Woohoo!

And comparing what Alvarez had to actually build versus what Bieliema took over?

Right. Which is why Bielema would be a decent hire here. We have the talent. Let me also point out that all of Alvarez's three conference championships came prior to the turn of the century. His best finish in his last six seasons was 3rd in the B1G (he did it twice). Bielema won 5 conference titles in 7 seasons.

He would be a poor hire here. He actually has to recruit here because we do not have a ton of talent (where is this idea coming from with CU fans?). He absolutely destroyed Arkansas and Wisconsin does not miss him. Paying for a name you heard, that is it.

I don't think Long even considered him seriously for the KU job.

No, Bobby Petrino destroyed Arkansas. But whatever, I'm no Bielema fan, but it seems ridiculous that any CU fan would willingly disregard a guy that consistently had Wisconsin in the running for national titles.

I mean, you can ignore Arkansas all you want, but he left that program in terrible shape.

And consistently in the running for national titles? No need for hyperbole (or maybe so).

Ask any Razorback fan who they blame for the downfall of that program. 9 out of 10 will tell you Petrino and his idiocy is to blame. Not Bielema. And yes, he coached Wisconsin to three Rose Bowls and a Sugar Bowl in seven years. But let's instead hire a G5 coach who "shows promise" because he won 7, 7, 8 and 10 games the past four years.

I have talked to plenty of Arkansas fans. They blame both, as they should.

When he had to actually build something up, he could not do it.

And you must be new here if you think I advocate for the latest, greatest G5 coach.

You guys are making fun of me for being open to G5 coaches and we're talking about Boss Hawg here?

Of course, I haven't even mentioned the obvious reason to hire Bielema. It seems CU could really benefit from a decent offensive line.
