Rick George, Good Idea. Thread.

Then why is Mtn claiming that other schools do it to make them look good?

Different motivations for different schools. For some schools who may be subsidizing their AD, they want to make the revenues look as good as possible so they don't have to defend spending taxpayer or tuition dollars to subsidize an athletic department that's bleeding cash.

It all depends on if you are making money or losing money.

If you are making money (in real terms, not accounting) then it may be in your best interest to minimize those profits.

On the other hand if you are losing money on athletics then you want to minimize the losses to avoid drawing attention to subsidizing athletics with funds that "could be going into teaching and research."

In other words the best strategy may be to move your figures to the middle making it look like you are as close to break even as possible.

Of course some schools may have different agendas and would be exceptions to this rule.

I like it, but requiring people to get through the gates one hour before the game starts seems kind of weird. It should not take an hour to get into the stadium.

Papa John's and "gourmet" should never be mentioned in the same encyclopedia, let alone the same sentence!
Of the mass produced, mass marketed, high volume pizza places, Papa John's is IMO the best of them. Obviously there is better pizza, but no one is comparing PJ's to that.

I haven't had Papa John's in 10+ years, but I don't remember it being that bad. My favorite chain pizza is probably Mountain Mike's or Round Table (with extra sauce).

Speaking of pizza at the game. We remember days long ago when the stadium pizza was Old Chicago, and it was good....decent size, great taste. Then they went to cheap crap. At early game this year wife comes back to seats and says "This is great, they have OC pizza again, I got one for each of us."
Then I open the box and viewed a catastrophe. What a waste, for about $9 or $11 too! Thing was small and definitely NOT worthy of an OC pizza.
Come On!
