Scott Frost Interview Notes and Comments

That’s when he jerks, is when his legs and ass are stomped on by a Buff DL guy, and a NU OL guy. He wasn’t twisting AM’s leg. If AM’s leg got hurt, it was the pile on top of him bending him backwards as Callier is holding on to him for dear life.
shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Don't let those black and gold glasses distort your reality.

Fine. We can do it your way. I apologize in advance for the LONG post.

Extra angle:

This is from the 9sec mark of the "Extra angle". I outlined #78's leg in red (since its your favorite color). You can see he is coming across the pile up, and is in the act of falling. You will also see that Callier has not yet curled toward the turf.

At the 10sec mark of the "Extra angle". You can see now that #78 has fallen onto the pile. This is the same point in time that #44 begins to curl his body downward.

Above shot:

Going back to the above shot, at the beginning of the tackle. We can see #44 is on the ground first. #32, #95, and #33 in white are all on their feet closing in on the qb.

#95 has now fallen on the pile. #32 and #33 are still closing
View attachment 27126

#95 has begun to roll off the QB and #44. #33 is clear of the play. (this one is hard to photograph, so watch the above angle at half speed if you don't believe me.)
View attachment 27127

This is right before the knee lands on #44. #44's legs are highlighted in yellow. These can only be his legs because he was the first on the ground, and at the bottom of the pile. You can see #78 dropping his knee as he prepares to stabilize himself as he falls. #33 is clear, #95 has rolled to his side and out of his way, you can see both of his white socks in the blue highlighted area.
View attachment 27128

Here you can see #78 is all the way on the ground, and #44 has curled to his left and toward the turf.

Using both angles in conjunction with one another, I see a very plausible scenario that does NOT involve malicious intent from Jacob Callier.

NOTE: Martinez wasn't giving a "what the hell man?!?" hand gesture. He was reaching towards his lineman trying to get some help getting up. You can see him give up on when no one makes any effort to help him up, and instead sits up on his own.

You should send this to Slick Rick and Andy Staples. They each brought it up on their shows on Sirius XM today. Neuheisel at least stood up for Callier while Staples went on for 2 minutes about how it did not look good for Callier. This desperate plea of Frost's need to be shut down on a national level.

You guys are so great at missing the point it’s comical. In the Scenario I’m referring to, Montez would not have finished the game, just as Martinez did not. Man you guys are dumb. You just keep opening my mind further as to how dumb someone can be.
You’re so open minded we are pretty sure your brain fell out years ago.

But still, one point remains.

Scoreboard.

Now, since you’re our bitch now, go make us some sandwiches and bring some beers.

“I’ll let someone smarter than me look at that.” HCSF

Well, okay then! I'm smarter than whiny little bitch scott frosty, and I have a degree from CU to prove it! I'll make the call! So here goes: It was a questionable shot. But hey, it's college football and the kid's play with a lot of fire and emotion. It would be petty to make a deal of it. I'm over it. Now on to NHU!

Questions about the actual rules. This isn’t specifically directed at OU.

Here is a made up scenario that is cut-and-dry (not something partisan and speculative like the AM tackle and injury)

What is supposed to happen when coaches inspect film after a game and come across what might be considered a flagrant personal foul that wasn’t flagged by the refs?

Does the NCAA and/or the conferences have existing rules on the books to investigate the film and dictate whether or not a player can be disciplined or penalized? (Is Collier at risk?). If so, what penalties exist? And do they include suspensions, getting kicked off the team, forfeiture of a win, or criminal liability?

Are there any noteworthy cases where an injured player has successfully filed charges with law enforcement for an injury that happened during a game?

What happens next?

Will a rules committee use the Martinez injury film as the basis to make changes that further safeguard players?

I think I’m okay with the NCAA considering rules that penalize a player for intentionally and blatantly injuring an opponent. Not sure what the penalty should be, though.

I know I am against inventing rules as you go along. Fan driven vigilante justice on social media is not good for football.
I understand a college coach "standing up" for his players and their safety. However, a coach should handle these things through official channels, not through the media or social media. Even if he thinks an opposing player did something wrong, he should publicly give him the benefit of the doubt and mitigate the issue. He can lobby to officials as strongly as he wants to out of the public eye. If the kid did something wrong enough to be punished, then, the officials, not the coach may announce the reason for the punishment. Also, I think the opposing coaches should have enough respect for each other to expect unsportsmanlike activities get dealt with.

Regardless of what Callier did or didn't do, Frost handled this poorly.

If none of this works... sell tickets to the CU v. Nubs Coaches Smoker for charity.

Thats why I stopped listening to Sirius-In this instance, they're just as in the tank for the Nubs as the NU papers are.

I don't see MacIntyre doing something like this if this was Montez with a Big 10 Crew.

Lots of slo mo in the link I posted and different angles. I dont see anything either. He just got wrapped up and then someone coming from a different direction hit him. I hope he gets back in before the season ends.

When you look at that slo-mo you see Landman coming in and drilling the QB while he's already down and his leg is anchored by Callier. That's where any damage would have taken place. Callier's reaction looks more like a guy who's getting landed on and stepped on (including by their fatass #76 who is stepping all over people, potentially his own QB).

It sounds to me like frosty's AD told him STFU about this because it wasn't a good look for him or the school, and he (the AD) would handle "the issue" from here on out.

I really hope that at the end of the conversation the AD said "besides, don't you have a game to prepare for next Saturday?"

To repeat what I stated before it was a tackle.

It was the same tackle that has been made thousands of times by thousands of different players, you grab an ankle and pull a guy down.

If somebody wanted to they could go back in the archives and find exactly the same tackle including the same release from the tackle by a bunch of different Nebraska players on Hagan, Flannigan, Bienemy, on and on and on.

If there had been intent to injure he would have rolled or twisted on the way down or once down, that is how you blow up a leg.

Martinez was hurting before this tackle and if any damage occurred it was due to Martinez struggling to stay up and gain yardage, not because of some little perceived twist at the end of a play.

Scat Back is a fusker seeing things through fusker lenses. They lost therefore somebody must have cheated. He chooses to ignore the long history of Nebraska players violating standards on and off the field. The play in question was a football play, nobody was trying to hurt anybody, if they were then the action and the results would have been more dramatic and clearer.

jkppkjjkp may not be a fusker, he has been around for a long time. IIRC though he has also hated MM and the program under MM. If he goes away it won't be a loss to this board.

What is the end game here for Frost? That's what I want to know. Does he want Callier suspended?

Hard to tell. Certainly a faction of his fan base is going there.

Might be a PR move to distract his fans during the honeymoon in a pathetic attempt to save face.

Maybe he’s gambling that it’s easier to point fingers at CU than take ownership of his depth issues at QB (which are of his own making.)

How important is Adrian to Frost and Husker Nation?
giphy.gif

you guys are giving frost too much credit. he's not trying to take the focus off his own ineptitude. that would require a higher level of planning and executive function than an ex-fusker qb is capable of.

he's not ready to coach at a major, even a ****ty one like the fuskers.

1. he can't handle the press properly.
2. he clearly ****ed up his roster management by not locking down a backup qb.
3. his whiny bitch fusker homerism overtook his sense when talking about the issue.
4. he can't properly evaluate tape.
5. he's a sore loser.

basically, he just sucks at his job. maybe he will grow into it-- they have good athletes and the pieces are in place for them to be good. but, he's going to suck at his job for awhile and do stupid things that hurt his team. like this.

What is the end game here for Frost? That's what I want to know. Does he want Callier suspended?

More than anything else, I think he wants to simply distract everyone from his team's loss and his own subsequent juvenile and petulant behavior. I think his temper tantrum will go on until he has a win or some other opposing team's player to demonize.

I predict frosty will get canned within 5 years. Surely the self-proclaimed "classiest fans" will eventually get sick of his whining and excuses. He is an embarrassment at this point.

Frost showed how big a douche he was last year by proclaiming UCF MNC. Does he wear his ring? Or was it stolen? Maybe we could buy him a moral victory badge for last week.

not to stick up for frosty, but it was the UCF AD who proclaimed the NC, frosty was already packed for corn land before the peach bowl kicked off.

I will admit that Callier's movements while on the ground look a little weird, but hardly incriminating without a doubt. There could be several valid explanations, with only one being that he was twisting the lower leg of Martinez.

If Frost doesn't have more evidence to go on than that film we've all seen, then he's a complete and total punk. What kind of leader calls out a player and makes this "a thing" without something a lot more concrete? A GIANT ****ING DOUCHE!!!!

Show us some evidence please.

Couple thoughts:

  • Callier was grabbing Martinez's ankle, Martinez hurt his knee. I know they're close to each other, but I don't see how twisting a guy's ankle or stretching a guy's ankle is going to result in a knee injury.
  • Callier wrapped up Martinez's legs, and then Martinez got drilled by Landman and Antwine. He was very vulnerable and stuck and got bent backwards by two huge guys. That to me, is where the injury occurred.
  • Bunch (back up, walk-on QB) played pretty damn well for a guy that was put into a very difficult situation. He made some good throws, for sure. We'll never know how the game would have played out with Martinez, but you can't pin the loss on the injury. Mainly because...
  • Martinez doesn't play defense and the guys who do, couldn't stop Viska and Montez.
