Sefo Liufau 2016 Buffalo Heart Award Winner

I loved the comment from Sefo last week that the freshmen probably hate him because he's been so tough on them. That told me so much. Sefo instilling that in the freshmen wasn't about him and his success as a senior. That's about the program and the legacy so that those guys are prepared to carry it forward. At least as important as what this season has meant for the program is the lasting culture this year's seniors have set as the standard within the locker room.
 
Even last night with a couple of bad turnovers, he still battled through it. Gutsy doesn't begin to describe how Sefo plays.
 
I'm curious. Sitting right behind the bench in Sect. 118 and seeing this trophy given in years past. How, When, and by Whom was it presented after the game? It was chaos.
 
Thank you Sefo for everything you have done for this program. Thank you for always putting your body in the line and for giving everything you've got for 4 years. Thank you for being a leader and a mentor. Thank you for understanding what it means to be a Buffalo and for being the ultimate team player. Thank you for leaving a legacy behind. Thank you and crongatulations, there is none more deserving of this award.

They actually showed Sefo getting the award on TV last night. Looks like someone from the football staff pulled him over to the section & a grey-haired bundled up fan handed him the frame. He shook a couple of fans hands and then went back to the chaos on the field.
 
I teared up a little, just reading this thread. Indeed the Buffs' Captain Walker. What an incredible Buff!

Pure class and the heart of a warrior. The way he handled the Webb situation was a microcosm of the Buffs year. Snap and move on. So happy for him and all the sacrifices hes made throughout his career. MMac was right, watch out when the rest of the team catches up with Sefo.
 
I am here to eat Crow and apologize for ever comparing him to Jay Cutler (in prior years I perceived him to be aloof) - I couldn't have been more wrong. Congratulations to Sefo.
