Senior Bowl, Sefo.

What's with Fox's obsession with this guy?

Probably has little to do with Fox, and everything to do with his OC.
Yep. I'm thinking either Sefo hit on a family member of his, or he loves him so much that he doesn't want anyone else to see him compete. Unfortunate for Sefo, as he's a gamer and it would have been fun to see him in there late. **** Fox and that ****ty OC.

I am not a Sefo fan, but what just happened at the Senior Bowl was crap! The kid deserved at least 2-3 series and 5-8 throws. Fox and his staff are a joke. Sad, sad, sad.

You can hate him all you want, he is not the problem.

Other people can have opinions, and it doesn't mean they're wrong. Sometimes blowing off some steam is completely warranted, and I didn't see anyone say that Sefo was a world beater and deserved a majority of snaps. I just think some people felt like an athlete who was selected to a team and practiced with them for a week might get the chance to throw one ball. At least that's my opinion. I'm not sure of the "problem" you're referring to, but as a Bears fan, it sure felt like Fox and his OC were a part of the problem this season, and they made things very frustrating to watch, so I'm sure there's some carry over and why I felt like venting with him as the target.

If I were a Bears fan, I would be pissed as well.

I think the player evaluations really take place leading up to the game and not in the game so much.

It's an all-star type game, not a playoff game. These kids were invited to showcase their skills (or lack of.)

This may sound like orange slices and juice boxes but every guy should get an opportunity to at least try to show what he can do.

What Fox did is chicken-blank,

DBT is correct about the evaluations but unless you have a very good reason not to every QB should get a shot to throw the ball, every RB at least a couple carries, every receiver at least one or two plays called to target him.

Other than maybe a few of the players or their parents nobody is going to remember the final score or even who won.

It almost looks like the Bears are thinking about drafting Prettiman in the 2nd or 3rd round and did a personal tryout. That was a really sad thing, and would love to know Sefo's honest thoughts!

Well ... regardless of the reason, we know that Fox and his OC are doing a crackerjack job with the Bears offense and Jay Cutler, amirite?
Cutler has been mediocre in almost every context as a QB. It's always about him needing the right OC and supporting cast; one of the years that he had it with the Bears and Josh freaking McCown stepped in and was just as successful.

Fox is not the Bears problem, the Jay Cutler trade was the beginning of a decade of mediocrity. They way overpaid for a watered down version of Jeff George, then the defense was neglected for years in attempts to get enough offensive talent to surround Cutler to mask his deficiencies, err.... I mean to highlight Cutler's abilities.

God I hate Jay Cutler. Seriously **** having that guy on the Bears, it's made the NFL unenjoyable for me as a Bears fan for years.

My post re Fox and Co. was out of frustration for them not giving Sefo an opportunity to show himself. One possession in which he was only allowed to hand the ball off to RBs 7 or 8 times? That was bull****. No offense, but I couldn't give two ****s about the Bears.

I think Fox is a good coach. You don't get where you are at without being that. However, Fox got fired from an NFL team who won the Super Bowl the following season. Nothing really changed from the previous season other than coaches from that team.

He has one job at the Senior Bowl. Give every player at least a fighting chance to showcase their skills, whether that is one play or one quarter to showcase their particular skills.

Most of us would have never known he did this, but since it is Sefo we are out-ragged. Would love to hear the reason why they didn't give Sefo a chance. He probably won't make it as a QB in the NFL, but at least give him a chance to showcase his skills. He has a lot of Tebow in him. Sefo just doesn't demand he has to be a QB. Bet he gets a cup of coffee in the NFL at some point, just not sure it will ever be at the QB position.

Not sure if Sefo had a horrible week of practice but many folks mentioned the missed passes, etc, during the week leading up to the game.

Thing about the NFL is that for a QB to succeed he has to read defenses, make lightning quick decisions, and be a pin point passer. I just don't see Sefo having those particular skills.

Two similar but separate points here for me:

First, I think the offense will be amazing in 2017 because Sefo is gone. Sounds mean, but we will have more accurate passing and the offensive skill players are now the leaders of this team.

Second, despite my opinion that Sefo is a very inaccurate passer, he was INVITED to the freakin Senior Bowl and should have been allowed the chance to succeed or fail live and in person during the game!

It would seem that the practices during the week sealed his fate!

Thank you for your courage Sefo, we appreciate it and wish you the best.

Playing in the Senior Bowl game has little impact on your draft status. It is the practices that are important - that is where a ton of Pro coaches and scouts get to eyeball the players up close. Yes it would of been nice if Sefo could of thrown some passes but what if he went 0-3 and threw a pick. You never know but not throwing a pass in the game is not the worse thing. He better hope he gets invited to the combine. Reports are he was not that good in practice but none of the QBs were very impressive.
