Obviously I'm not a big poster here, but I'll add my 2 cents. Building a program is perhaps one of the hardest things in sports to do. This isn't Alabama where all we would have to do is hire Nick Saban and the recruits start rolling in. Where they consistently fill a 100,000 person stadium every week, in the region of talent for football in the country. I'm not sure what everyone's expectations were, but this is going to be a marathon not a sprint. This isn't the pros where through the draft you will, eventually, get enough talent to win. And CU is not guaranteed to recover, ever. I saw where people said, "I'm sick of losing", yeah I am too. Can you imagine it for the next 30 years? The next 50? Because it is a possibility, we are not owed anything in college football.
When we were good in the 90's, they were tapping Louisiana for talent. With the SEC and LSU now a national power, that may never happen again. We can't keep the few good players in Colorado in state. (Virginia has a much more talent rich state than Colorado). It usually takes Coaches a couple years to integrate their program, set up relationships with instate and out of state high school coaches for recruiting, create the atmosphere they want meaning kids that believe in the system and program, get the kind of recruits they want on the field. I'm not trying to be all doom and gloom, just saying this is not an easy job. Having unrealistic expectations isn't going to make it easier for the fans or staff.
The biggest concern I see is the level of talent and speed on the team. Especially speed, the team looked painfully slow. A QB should be at the top of the list as well, but Embree seems to be working on that hard with Wood and Dillion coming to the team. Truthfully, I wouldn't expect much out of Hansen. He seems incapable of getting the ball out under 5 seconds, nor finding his secondary receiver. If they can't get the attitude and faith from the upperclassmen, they may have to start playing freshman out there.
