Shedeur Sanders - 2023-25 Tracking History Thread - Drafted by the Cleveland Browns (NFL)

I mentioned that Brees had things which stood out. Freakishly large hands and long arms while almost 6'1", which contributed to a higher release point than people would expect for his height and tremendous accuracy + ball security. And he's the guy people use as the example of a smaller sized pocket passer being able to succeed in the NFL. He's such an outlier that he's almost irrelevant - and he's over 2 inches taller than Gabriel.
Wingspan matters a ton as well. Gabriel 6.0.5 wingspan is a killer for the NFL. I do love his lighting quick release but it's going to be nearly impossible to overcome the length long term.

When have the cops ever asked for your social security number?

That was my question when I watched that. I have only received one moving violation in my life and I know I was not asked for my SSN. I don't see how it is relavant.

Did the officers really not know who Sanders was? He treated him professionally and respecfully but it sounded like he had no idea he is a rookie football player for the Browns.

I was also confused by the mention of the officer was letting Sanders' girl off for ging 92. That would mean she was in a different car? Was she ahead of Sanders?

Can't be getting into trouble, no matter how small when you are trying to win a role. Every little thing matters.
If keeping him becomes a marginal decision then it could be used as an excuse.

If he as I expect, performs in a way that shows him to be clearly more effective than the other options then they will chalk it up to a mistake of youth and put it in the past.

I'm sure he will handle it well but likely more important than the ticket will be how he deals with it after. He needs to come out with an apology and an unconditional acceptance of responsibility. Don't give the haters anything to us against him claiming he is "entitled" or "arrogant."

Ultimately in the NFL what matters is if you can play. Considering the actions of some of the guys they have kept in the league (Deshaun Watson rape allegations) a speeding ticket is a nothing factor if he handles it well.

I don't think he had his license on him, is why they asked for SSN. Fairly standard practice.

He goes up to the other car at least 3 times in the video, so yes.

Also, that was some of the ****tiest bodycam footage I've seen. Does he have Vaseline all over the lens? WTF?

Somebody needs to pull this idiot to order.
(Forgive my language)
I was proud of how he was conducting himself at Cleveland’s mini camp.
He was working hard, was humble and saying all the right things.
Now this…..
And for now, he is an (idiot) in my eyes. He knows the bright lights are on him and these are the type of decisions he is making?
One thing those that advocated for him could hang their hat on was that unlike Manziel, he did not break the law, did not drink or do drugs.
But if he begins to go down this road, the Browns should cut him cos obviously he has not learned anything from the draft fiasco.

Not good. Total knuckle-head stuff. Driving aside, why the heck didn't he just hire a local attorney and have the appearances moved? It is not very hard or time consuming and in many JXs you can just have the attorney show up for the initial appearance anyways. Could be a mandatory appearance since he was driving over 90 and 100.
