Not accurate enough for Canada. With only 3 downs the QB has to be accurate. Doesn't have to have a gun, lots of stuff opens up in the middle of the field but can't waste throws.
Shedeur would kill it up there but he is good enough for the NFL.
If somehow he ends up in Canada it will be Warren Moon 2nd edition, a guy who never should have been there but ended up there for non-football reasons.

I doubt most teams play many starters during preseason. Maybe some potential starters who are competing for the job but established guys just don’t play much in preseason now.

Panthers coach Dave Canales said Friday that Carolina starters, including QB Bryce Young, will play in the first two preseason games, an about face to the team's approach last season.
The Browns may sprinkle in some starters, but Shedeur will likely be playing with mostly the 2nd string.
NFL has a serious lack of backup QBs. Look at Denver. Elhinger is going into his 5th year, 3 starts, 8 appearances. Stidham going into his 7th season has 4 starts and a contract with a $7 million guarantee (2 years, $12 million total.)
Neither will ever be the guy you want starting but they fit what the coaches want. I think Gabriel can and will be that kind of player.
Well, he isn't gonna go against all starters obviously. He needs to play well Friday getting the start, though. What it does for his future in Cleveland, I could give a ****. He plays well, somebody will pick him up. Keeping Gabriel would be very Cleveland. That and having a senior citizen as your starter.
I see your full field reads and raise you this. The first 1:30 is a perfect example of halving the field to make reads easier on a QB. It works when you're stacked and playing lesser opponents. Not so much when you're playing OSU or NFL caliber players. Many teams do it to simplify things for their QB. Hell, even Baker Mayfield admitted this was something he had to overcome when he got to the league.

Baker had a 1st round grade. Dillion had a 4th round grade. A 4th round grade is top end backup at best.
Agreeing to agree. Gabriel sucks. Shedeur is awesome. Puppies, babies and pitchers of beer.
Gabriel’s heat map was just like Nix’s except he doesn’t have the physical characteristics that Nix did. A heavy majority of his throws were within 7 yards of the LOS. It’s not terribly hard to read the field when you’re not looking that far. Nix just happened to have the necessary processing skills to make it work in the NFL and he has the physicals to do it too. The Oregon offense just didn’t call for him to do that. I would expect that as long as Lanning has that offense in Eugene, most of their QBs won’t do well in the league.

Let me say it again, the Cleveland coaching staff will do everything they can to make Sanders look bad under the guise of, "We're just trying to keep things simple and let the players play."
If he ends up being good, it doesn’t really absolve Cleveland or make the rest of the league look stupid, it mostly just vindicates the people who think the league colluded to ensure he fell in the draft, since he was widely considered a first round talent by most scouts and draft experts.
I find it hard to believe they would pick him if they wanted him to fail from the beginning. I think you’re going off the deep end here
Shedeur is getting the standard late round QB treatment. Developmental QB that will have to scrap his way to reps. That’s why it’s so important to get drafted early. It takes years for the first round shine to wear off. Look at Pickett. Hasn’t been good, but still getting opportunities and reps.

Gabriel will never make it in the nfl, why ade you all so kind? He blows, and in my opinion lacks character in all dimensions (easiest read is jumping ard teams looking for a fit and then strinking out lucky…not something you build a team ard). I’ll call it now, his career will end with max 8 starts in the nfl.
