How many ball taps did you countPretty solid start for him. Agree about the holding the football too long at times instead of just getting rid of it. That'll come as he progresses. I remember another guy that did that, John Elway, one of the best ever. He'll settle in. He looked like he's trimmed up a bit or is that just my fvcked up eye sight?

I’m just glad he didn’t end up at a team I hate and root for its everlasting demise: Raiders and Patriots, mainly.
One of the weird things I saw with Stefanski calling plays: he spent a huge amount time calling this one play, and you could see SS waiting on the call to finish. Turns out it was just quick throw/outside flat pass/screen that got completely blown up immediately. SS clearly had just one option. Not sure why he had to spend so much time calling such a basic useless play.
At CU, SS could have tapped his helmet twice (or whatever) to run that play.
I actually thought Stefanski’s playcalling was solid. He gave Shedeur a mix of quick throws, easy reads, and play action. Shedeur missed about 3 throws that I can think of and had another one dropped, to go with his two “Shedeur’s” that he took sacks on. Would have liked to have seen him take a deep shot but thought KS put him in good positions
he did take 1 deep shot, but the WR got tackled out of bounds during his route.
I'd call the one-handed catch a deep-ball
They could also get a 5th or 6th round pick for Gabriel and or Pickett. Load up on picks, trade up to get O line, and WR picks in the first two rounds.

Was there a true sack or just a late throw away and then a looooong scramble that ended up as a “sack” because he ran out of bounds 2 yards behind the LOS
There was a true sack where he tried to scramble out of pressure and then the long scramble and run out of bounds behind the line

I was saying on here that Jeanty was overrated from Day 1. Many of us were. It wasn't hard to see. The MWC is straight and total ass.(Only putting this here bc of the difference in hype)

Unfortunately at CU the last couple years he had a combination of an overmatched OL and no running game to speak of to take pressure off. Opponents constantly went into "attack the QB" mode and it looked like Shedeur got to a point that he expected pressure even when there wasn't any. He also knew that he had to play hero ball and get the ball downfield because if they didn't get the 1st down throwing the ball they weren't going to get it running.
Last night despite a few times when he had pressure he looked like he had more confidence in his protection and in his teammates ability to carry some of the load. Instead of bailing out for a long scramble (backwards) he had multiple plays when he made a subtle move one or two shuffles left or right, mostly going right, to avoid the pressure and put his teammates in better position to maintain protection.
He also wasn't focused on trying to get the big chunk plays, he dumped the ball off to his RB or the TE or found the crosser on a shorter route. He was willing to take a 4 yard gain on 2nd and 7 to set up a shorter 3rd down.
He is still going to scramble, that's a part of who he is but I think we see him being much more selective about when and how he does it. Unlike at CU his scramble to avoid a pass rusher is less likely to run him into another guy who also beat his man cleanly.
Jeanty is a very good player who I expect to make it in the NFL. I never understood why people started talking him up like he was an elite RB prospect and he shot up boards.
On the opposite side, I thought it was ridiculous that Tyler Warren stated to get criticized and slid. When we look back, we'll say he should have been a top 5 pick.

From all the 0 reps he gave SS with the 1s and the 8 reps (or whatever ridiculous # it was) he got with the 2s. Sounds like quite an “install” for SS.
Sorry. Until Stefanski starts giving SS real reps over the scrub QBs on the roster, I’m not going to lean in his favor on anything.
The issue for SS going forward this preseason is that Stefanski is going to want to evaluate Pickett and Gabriel assuming they're healthy, therefore SS will be getting limited time splitting reps with 2 and maybe 3 other guys. Presumably Flacco won't play in the preseason. But the good thing is that SS made the most of his extended time last night and already has a big leg up on the other 2.
