Shedeur Sanders - 2023-25 Tracking History Thread - Drafted by the Cleveland Browns (NFL)

No team snaps for Sanders today in practice. Given to Huntley instead

Shedeur gets the start again
The Brown realized they screwed up by giving Shedeur the start against a terrible Defense. Now they are going to give him the start against a good defense and then bring in Gabriel once the Eagles bring in their 2nd/3rd team.

I still can't figure out why they drafted him. It is so obvious to me that the coaching staff really doesn't want him to work out.
Because despite what he has said the owner told them to.

Their egos won't let them accept that they were wrong.

If you've watched his pregame routine, he'd throw a small ball against the goal post padding while doing an exaggerated sideways hip rotation. Also twists with a medicine ball. I think part of that was to strengthen the obliques. Hoping it's minor.

Because he takes 8 reps per practice. The fact they are going to fill out there week one with him as QB1 actually trying to get the first pick in the draft amazing and peak NFL.
fify

They think that Arch is the solution to all their problems. Yes he is a Manning but I haven't seen anything from him that says generational player.

The Browns have had a long string of high draft choices, multiple 1st rounders including 1st overall picks, and it hasn't changed who they are.

I think they might almost be afraid that Shedeur is going to be good enough to win game for them.

Arch isn’t coming out this year and Flacco isn’t going to be bad enough to get them 1 overall. That’s the entire point. They spent two draft picks on QBs this year and they aren’t going to start either of them unless **** goes sideways. It makes no sense

Has what the Browns have done over the past 20 years ever made much sense?

In hindsight, most/all of their moves at QB didn't work out, but at least they were swinging for guys in the first round and trying to get them to work. Even trading for Watson was a move made out of solid logic in that they would get beyond his league suspension and have a true franchise QB (albeit they were scumbags in the first place for being OK with having him as their QB1). Nobody knew Watson was going to end up being really ****ty as a player in Cleveland, though.

This year takes the ineptitude to a whole new level though. They legitimately have 6 QBs on their roster with 5 of them getting reps in Training Camp and aren't planning on giving the two Rookies much of a look in the regular season. There is incompetence with executing a good plan and there is incompetence with executing a bad plan. This is incompetence with executing no plan.

I thought it was more the use of "Blacks" as a noun for a group of people instead of an adjective to describe people.

I am white. ✅

He is black. ✅

White people do this. ✅

Black people do that. ✅

Whites do this. ❌

Blacks do that. ❌

What about “black folks” and “white folks”

I say “white folks” a lot, but I feel like it’d be inappropriate to say “black folks”

Black (cap) is correct when referring to a cultural group in general conversation, journalism or academia.

Even if Arch came out this year, there is no way the Manning's are letting him go to the QB killing franchise.
