Shedeur Sanders - 2023-25 Tracking History Thread - Drafted by the Cleveland Browns (NFL)

The kid was a dick his whole time here.

Buff fans like you just ignore it because of your fanaticism.

Try taking off the blinders and see players for who/what they are.

Shedeur is not well like outside of a percent of Buff nation.

It’s ok to acknowledge players on your team might be dicks
What exactly did he do that made him a dick that other big time QBs did not do?

Dude, you can’t be serious.

The kid IS NOT LIKEABLE….AT ALL.

How would you perceive him if he wasn’t Buff? Honest question. Every single interview, commercial, clip of him the last two years, but he’s in a Florida State uniform.

Some of you guys need to start learning how to be objective about people, even when they’re on your favorite team. Especially when NFL front offices have clearly spoken…and they don’t like him either.

Vibes matter at the end of the day. A so-so pro day, holding onto the ball, and reports of poor interviews make SS a hard sell for GMs. It sucks for both the program and the player, but every year someone is in his position. Who knows maybe it is the best thing for his career only time will tell.

Objectively, Shedeur is a little entitled. He's had a camera thrust in his face since he was a kid. His father is an incredibly confident and successful man.

He's still likeable. I've seen him criticize his Oline once, and it was out of context responding to a question about Raola after the Nebraska loss. Other than that, and we've had hours and hours of an inside look at Shedeur, he gets along with his teammates, he doesn't complain, he has a huge smile on his face, he's tough as ****, and he's clutch.

Medford, maybe it's time for you to pull back a little. Not sure why you want to die on this hill tonight, but about 99% of the thread appreciates Shedeur and is heart broken for his fall.

No they don’t. There’s two or three guys who have lost all ability to be objective, and absolutely no one actually thinks Shedeur is likeable.

Hard to die on a hill when I’m being proven right in real time.

There’s a lot of people ****ting on valid critiques of his game and him as a person (taking sacks, poor pocket management, patting the ball, being one of the worst interviews in combine history, etc.) because objectivity is gone.

You think I don’t appreciate Shedeur getting us 9 wins last year or Deion reviving a dead program? Of course I do…but some of y’all getting on your knees fire them? Come on

Can he win a huddle? I don’t know.

All I know is that I saw in person Shedeur play against Caleb Williams and USC. I came away from that game convinced that Shedeur will be a better player than Williams. People may be forgetting how much punishment Shedeur took, without complaint, while QB of the Buffs.

Whoever picks Shedeur will be getting a steal, particularly if the coach is a strong personality like Vrabel. I hope this drop in the draft puts Shedeur into a better situation than he would have been if he were taken early in the first round.

Clearly the fall doesn’t have anything to do with his play on the field. Could be a million other things, his interviews, his hype train, his dad, a bit of his fun loving nature that makes him feel immature at times, his arrogance, who knows. What we do know is it has frightened off every team that needed a qb

Can you dig up even one quote from a teammate who had anything bad to say about him? You suk, in my book.

IMO here are the reasons that Shedeur fell in the draft:
  • Holds the ball too long,
  • Takes too many bad sacks,
  • Not particularly elusive, or great running the ball.
I'm guessing Shedeur is either going to be an absolute bust or an absolute stud in the NFL. Nobody has seen him behind an NFL OL, so it is really hard to tell. However, if some of the issues (above) are on him, and not a below average OL (or WRs not being able to separate off the line), he is really going to struggle in the NFL since he's never going to escape NFL defensive pressure.

I'd also agree with Medford's comments that Shedeur is generally unliked outside of the Colorado fan base. I'm not even sure how that is a controversial statement here. Fair or not, outside of my friends who are Colorado football fans, I don't know a single person who has anything good to say about Shedeur. My guess is that there are few NFL GMs or scouts that are going to put their job on the line to take a chance on a guy who is probably disliked by their team's fan base, and has some question marks about his game.

He'll likely go to a crappy team in the 2nd round. There won't be any pressure to start the guy on day 1, and everyone can take a deep breath and let his career play out the way it's going to play out.

This will certainly be an interesting thread to reflect back on in a few years.

The people you’re referring to who don’t like him are fans who don’t know him and have never spoken to him. Every media member who has spent time with him, whether local or national, have had nothing but positive things to say. One anonymous source comes out saying things that come off so personally that they sound like a CSU or Nebraska fan talking **** and that means he’s generally unlikable?

I watched a clip of Shedeur talking to everyone that came to the draft party and I just feel bad. He put on a strong face but I’m sure he’s probably crushed inside.
Not sure that saying the teams “made a mistake” not taking him the first round was helpful.

He (and Prime) also brought in a ton of fans from the HBCU world. So my point with the meme yesterday wasn't so much about a particular political group, but about the tendency of mediocre white men to reflexively hate Shedeur in the same way they reflexively (and conversely) loved Jim McMahon, Ric Flair, John Daly. There's definitely a theme there & it's not political per se.
