Signing Day Press Conference

I look at this exit interview issue a bit differently. I question why the exit interviews were necessary at all.

It seems to me that a head coach should have a very clear picture into the attitudes of his best players and be able to gauge morale well before the end of the season.

The fact that he wasn’t “rerecruiting” his best players in late October and early November displays a coach that is too far removed from his team.

When I think about this in the same vein as the MichRod fiasco it gives me pause as to whether he is working hard enough.

To me there is no excuse for not having a finger on the pulse of your team.
Young people like and expect closure. They want a conversation. Obviously he should have a strong feel for the team. He should be communicating that vision after the dust has settled.

I think it's less about closure and more about recognition. Young people want to be in the spotlight.
