So, will success in bball rub off on football?

You could argue that Michigan State's basketball success helped to get the football program back on track. I believe that success breeds success and a culture of winning within the athletic department benefits all sports (just as the opposite, I believe, dragged all CU sports down for a while).

It's certainly not the most important thing for turning football around, but it does have a positive influence. Especially since Embree likes to schedule official visits for December and January. Being able to take them to a basketball game when we have a good team and the Keg is rocking certainly helps.
