Spencer Dinwiddie - NBA PG (BKN Nets)

Read an article that suggested he could be looking at 18-20 million a year on his next contract.

Author was using the contracts of players putting up similar numbers to come to that conclusion.

That’s what Kyrie and John Wall are making, although John Wall has a crazy escalator kick in 2020. I love Spencer, he isn’t getting 18-20 million.

Goran Dragic making $17.0M.
Reggie Jackson making $16.0M.
Brandon Knight making $13.6M.
Jeremy Lin making $12.0M.

I think he's legitimately in that group with what his value is to an NBA franchise.

Dragic and I’m pretty sure Jackson got their deals before the cap went backwards. Jeremy Lin is probably a very good comp. 12-13 is entirely reasonable, and also nothing to scoff at.

I wonder if the Nets would consider a Lyle's for Spencer swap? Maybe toss in Mudiay.

I'd say he's better than all four of those guys because I don't think his efficiency is a blip on the radar, and I don't think he's going away.

The backwards cap is a big deal and will hurt Spencer. I still think he tops Dre’s deal.

Say he gets 13 mil, that's a pretty good chunk of change if you know how to take care of it and don't piss it away.

You think that between Burks, Dre and Spencer we could get $1MM/ year in AD contributions? It’ll take a while for White to hit his jackpot.

Athletes aren't usually monster donors to their former ADs. I'd be happy if they kept repping the school when possible and for the football players, not mentioning their damn high schools during the MNF intro.
I remember a few years ago some baseball player donated several million to the Nebraska AD. I’m not asking for anybody to give up a new Ferrari or anything. Just maybe help out the school that helped you to get to where you are now.
With income like that, a certain level of giving is typical just to help with taxes. Why not CU?

Yep. What you want from them is involvement like they've done. I'm sure they'd all show up and help with any events to raise money for a project to support the hoops program. They're part of the family. There are numerous ways they can and will support the family without personally writing a check.

Small sample size on a terrible team
Terrible is a stretch. They're quite competetive night in, night out.

He's not Michael Carter Williams making a 6 year career thus far based off playing on a truly pitiful team his first two years, and he is, by most measures, legitimately the worst player in the NBA.

Absolutely. I just want everyone to be clear that is exceptional, not an expectation.

I wasn’t expecting anything, just wondering if it would be something we would consider pursuing. Fundraising comes from a lot of sources. Professional athletes make a lot of money. I’m just picking at some low hanging fruit, but I certainly don’t expect anything from them. Wouldn’t hurt to ask, though.

Dinwiddie hit two shots in the final 15sec to get the nets in front, unfortunately the Thunder were able to respond. Westbrook hit this game winner after SD got crushed on a "screen"

With 3.3sec The Mayor had one more chance, but was forced into a fade away deep 3 by Andre Roberson, and the shot fell just short.

Yup.

Appreciate anything he gives us financially but I'd expect he has an even bigger impact just by staying in the media in a positive way with his association with the school.

And if he decides to attend some functions with some big money donors and shake some hands and tell some jokes he can have an even bigger impact, but he doesn't owe the school anything considering his contributions as a Buff.

Two moving picks in under 10 seconds. Crazy.
