Now we need to figure out a way to do a watch party from his house in Australia. Hey once a Buff always a Buff. And I can tell you from my time in Australia there will be no shortage of beer.

I'm currently down here in Australia on a 3 year posting ... we do have the interwebz here you know ... and even have ESPN on cable here (which I watched the UCLA game live on a nice warm sunny Sunday afternoon) - plus from last year even have Pac 12 Network available over free broadcast tv 🔥 Thank god for technology

Damn. He calls it quits after one short kick from 51 yards and a blocked kick that was not his fault?! I guess they are really the Snowflake Gen. No wait ... he’s allbuffs age. 35 millennial forever

Dude - he came here hoping to make it to the NFL. That wasn't the opening he needed. And if he is "nicked up", it isn't going to get better.

Thanks to the guy for all he did here trying to be his best. I wish him well in his future endeavors.

This feels like the right response. He has to be devastated. He had a successful career in sales before pursuing his dream of reaching the NFL. School was a means to an end. He wanted to be a kicker, and now he can't. That sucks.

The timing is ... interesting to say the least. And I’m just giving him a hard time. Good luck old man.

I've seen enough of your posts over time to assume you are not an asshole by nature. Right now, you are bordering on that category at least on this subject.

You're a piece of **** and have been for some time. Guy put his body on the line for this team. Show the man some respect

You appear to have missed some cause this is exactly the type of poster he is.

Stefanou is a class act and was a very solid kicker. He retires with the best extra point percentage in Colorado history. He must have known that something was wrong; That 51 yard attempt vs. UCLA was straight down the middle but fell short. A healthy Stefanou would have blasted that through. Price is a very capable replacement, but the Buffs need to get an additional foot on the roster for the rest of this season.

He has been through multiple coaches, multiple hearttearing losses, and the disappointment of losing a season to injury.

People laugh about kickers as football players but the act of kicking a football is a pretty violent act for the body. He had a major injury, he has suffered ongoing nagging injuries since.

I don't know him and haven't seen anything from anyone who has talked to him but it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't just come to a realization that he couldn't kick anymore at a level acceptable to himself, that even kicking below his standard was painful, and that it wasn't going to get better and he wasn't going to pursue his NFL dream.

He isn't leaving the team in a bad position because he knows they have someone who can kick better than he can right now.

James, good on you, you've been an outstanding Buff and I hope you will see your time in Boulder as a very positive experience.

Generally that is true. Strangely enough, I just saw that POS Alex Lewis playing for the Jets. In his case, your declaration does not work.
Like ALL Fuskers from COLO, he's a turncoat! Never was a real Buff though he played a year, only to wait for the inevtiable offer from NU. You're right he's a POS!
