Stefanou Retires

Just because he’s “retiring” from CU doesn’t mean he can’t get healthy and give the NFL a shot. Now the odds are extremely slim, but he can probably still give it a shot.

I very much doubt it.
Healthy he wasn't a long kicker and while he was more accurate than most college kickers it wasn't like he was automatic.
Given his age and injury history it would be a surprise if the league gave him a real shot.
They would look at him on a senior day and might even bring him in for a look but I don't see a guy with a chance.
He's a Buff and we would all love to see it but realistically no.

Generally that is true. Strangely enough, I just saw that POS Alex Lewis playing for the Jets. In his case, your declaration does not work.
Clearly god is punishing him. J-E-T-S, jets, jets, jets. LOL.

This was my original reaction but I think from his message he is retiring from kicking too and seemed to want to send that message in his post. Maybe I am reading into it too much. Either way good luck to him.

Need to remember that he has a lot of wear and tear on his legs from his pro soccer days down under. Would tend to believe that he probably aggravated his hip injury again and that any recovery may be a short term deal. Body may just not be able to heal as well anymore. Also we don't know what his injury history was during his soccer career.

Now if he could have some buffaloes imported into Australia.

Is Stefanou old enough that he is retiring, or just retiring from football?
Not going to do the research but if he were to somehow make an NFL team next year I wonder on how many teams in the league would he be one of the 5 oldest players.

Other than QBs and kickers there aren't many players in the league older than he is. He already went through it here but it would be kind of strange to be a rookie and be one of the oldest players on the team.
