Jalen Hurts just entered the transfer portal. I wouldn't be opposed.
I would rather have Cameron Rising if we are just picking transfer QBs from the portal.Jalen Hurts just entered the transfer portal. I wouldn't be opposed.
Why would you rather have Rising just curious? If it’s because of years to play, I’d rather take Hurts who has shown marked improvement as a passer and then aim for a 2020 recruit with the opportunity to play right away while getting one of Noyer/Lytle/Stenstrom actual in game repsI would rather have Cameron Rising if we are just picking transfer QBs from the portal.
At what point does potential turn to never going to be elite? He will be here for his 5th year if he staysMontez' value is all about potential.
Nothing has changed on that since I saw him at the CU camp as a High School Senior to be.
So far, we've seen only glimpses of what might be.....
Just my preference. Hurts can do a lot for you out on the field, but I believe Rising would be a more accurate drop back QB than Jalen. Plus, yes, it would be nice to have him for a couple years. Why would you rather have Rising just curious? Veryyou would be comfortable heading into Fall with Lytle, Noyer, and Stenstrom?
He is who he is. Nothing more, nothing less. For those hoping (again) that this is his breakout year, well... what you see is what you get at this point. Having said that, I see nothing behind him even close to ready. At what point does potential turn to never going to be elite? He will be here for his 5th year if he stays
Ask Medford M. As soon as he has an elite OL and NFL caliber WRs, RBs and TEs, Montez will emerge to be a stud. You just watch. At what point does potential turn to never going to be elite? He will be here for his 5th year if he stays
Agreed, I didn't make it clear in my post my intent was to put up the point that his potential won't come torfruition if it hasn't already. He is who he is. Nothing more, nothing less. Need to make a bowl game in 2019.
Same. Damn straight.I hope Montez is a Buff this fall.

No, but you can certainly judge him by mechanics, reads, accuracy, leadership, field/pocket awareness, etc. SM maybe a good size athlete with a strong arm, but he is a mediocre QB.I continue to be amazed that people didn't learn the lesson that you can't judge a QB completely that has a terrible line with Sefo. Sefo was never going to be a world beater but when he had a good line all of a sudden he made a huge leap. I really hope Montez stays. If he doesn't I'd gladly take Hurts but Montez is option 1 for me.
Dammit! The Hurts coming to CU makes my head Hurts. He ain't coming here, folks.

And his self-preservation mode (probably Roper's doing) every time he scrambles that cost the Buffs numerous times last year. Most of my criticism of Montez relates to his abdication of leadership the last two seasons.
Hot garbage? Get outProbably not a very good comparison, but Sefo was hot garbage until 2016. Point being a guy can have a pretty significant leap in performance from one year to the next. I’m not necessarily predicting that for Montez, but I’m not discounting the possibility, either.
An exaggeration for effect.Hot garbage? Get out
Uhh huhAn exaggeration for effect.
But can Sefo eat 5 pizzas in a day??Probably not a very good comparison, but Sefo was hot garbage until 2016. I can't believe anyone doubts that Montez is a quality QB in a vacuum.
He was lights out before Pac-12 defenses figured out that if you took away the quick passes, the OL couldn't protect him long enough to do anything else.
You can wish for All-American quality QB transfers or recruits all you want, they're going to look like **** until the OL gets fixed.
