This seems like a good thread for this. Dancing Pete, dropping D3 buckets. Current and recent Buffs showing up in the comments too.
happier than they will be 5 years later in all likelihood.I wonder how happy the haters will be the day Tad announces his retirement.

Would make sense that he inherited some athletic ability from his dad and learned some love of the game.Jeebus. A little research reveals that Pomona College has 1,747 students, a $ 3.03 billion endowment, and accepts 6.6% of its applicants for admission.
Nice landing spot for this guy from Boulder High....
Colorado 84-71 Utah (Mar 5, 2022) Game Recap - ESPN
Expert recap and game analysis of the Colorado Buffaloes vs. Utah Utes NCAAM game from March 5, 2022 on ESPN.www.espn.com
From the Utah recap:
Walker's 16th double-double of the season helped the Buffaloes win their 20th game in a season for the 13th time in school history and the ninth time in 12 seasons under Tad Boyle, including four straight. Boyle's 253 wins at Colorado are eight shy of Sox Walseth's program record.
I hate the Oregon match up in Rd2 of the Pac-12 tourney HATE ITPerfect. 3 wins in the Pac-12 tournament, then 6 in the NCAA and Tad sets the program record when CU beats Gonzaga 88-84 in the title game.
Really? Neither of those schools is playing particularly well right now.I hate the Oregon match up in Rd2 of the Pac-12 tourney HATE IT

I see a great deal of opportunity in this tournament. Win three games and CU is sitting at 23-10 with wins over two ranked teams.
they are playing poorly, you are correct. The animosity between the two coaches and the fact Oregon has talent - makes me nervous.Really? Neither of those schools is playing particularly well right now.

Likely path of having to go through UO, UA and UCLA (or USC) to win this tournament is the toughest path we could have.they are playing poorly, you are correct. The animosity between the two coaches and the fact Oregon has talent - makes me nervous.

Bring it on.

Yep, tough path. Say they make it to the conference championship game and drop it, I still think they should be a tourney team. That's me though.Likely path of having to go through UO, UA and UCLA (or USC) to win this tournament is the toughest path we could have.

We need that talent to stick around. Tad's teams are best when a group stays together for a couple years and really gel within the Tad Ball formula. This is a Sweet 16 team next year if Walker stays and we pick up a half way decent transfer replacement Big for Evan.We all want to see Tad go deeper in March, but the desolation of our football program and the fact that he's built up this program from nothing should give us all some perspective. Is Tad above criticism? No, and actually, he is fairly self critical himself. Let's see what he does in the next few years with actual bluechip talent. I think we will break the Sweet-16 drought soon, and then who knows what kind of players we can bring in to this program.
Seeding in the tournament.I'm not sure if you're serious. Why would being 23-10 with wins over 2 ranked teams matter with an automatic qualification?
If only Baye Fall would/could reclassify to this next class... he and Jabari would be a scary tandem for a yearWe need that talent to stick around. Maybe I'm wrong, but my impression is that having to play in that Dayton round has set teams up better for making a run vs getting a seed in the 7-10 range. I'm more than ok with making the Dance and not getting the bye. It would just suck to lose and not get to the field of 64.Seeding in the tournament.
I guess so. I find it weird that we would likely end up with a 6-8 seed if we win the tournament (and with two wins over UA, a likely 1 or 2 seed), but wouldn’t be in at all without winning it. You’d think a team that was one win away from a 7 seed would be a decent choice for a 10-12 seed, but there’s a lot about this year that has been weird.Maybe I'm wrong, but my impression is that having to play in that Dayton round has set teams up better for making a run vs getting a seed in the 7-10 range. Hard to see them being a scary tandem with one playing in the NBA and the other in the Pac-12.If only Baye Fall would/could reclassify to this next class... he and Jabari would be a scary tandem for a year
Yep, the conversation was a hypothetical, but thanksHard to see them being a scary tandem with one playing in the NBA and the other in the Pac-12.
Jabari's potential projected 2022 NBA draft position has ranged from very late first round to 2nd round (or even undrafted). Of course it would be awesome if he moves up even more. But given the uncertainty that remains for the time being, are people on this forum allowed to discuss what the team would look like if he elected to come back? I'm so confused by these responses.People need to get it out of their heads that it’s good for CU to have NBA caliber players choose to stay for an extra year when they can get drafted to the NBA. It’s good to send players to the NBA. Whether it’s after 4 years or 1 year or anything in between. They should go when they’ve been graded to be drafted. That’s good for them and good for the program.
I don’t know what the scouts think of Jabari, but if they think he’ll be drafted, it’s far better for him to take that than to return and have to drastically improve his per game stats to gain traction in the next draft. There are ceilings. Look at Roby. He could have been a first round pick after his sophomore year. He came back and his stats were the same his Junior and senior years and he didn’t get a draft grade. It ****ed him.
It’s far more likely to lose ground by staying in college than by going pro. Sure, there are players who get drafted high as juniors or seniors, but that’s usually because they needed time to develop. And they usually weren’t considered draftable earlier than that. Or if they were, and they made large jumps anyway, then they are outliers.
