What's really weird is that the reversal did not benefit USC!

Apparently this applies to P12 officials, too:https://sports.yahoo.com/yahoo-spor...led-targeting-call-pac-12-game-040318946.html

What is really bizarre is that guy is general counsel for the conference. You'd think the guy whose job description includes keeping the conference from getting sued would want to err on the side of calling the penalty that's entire existence is due to the NCAA not wanting to get sued.
In all seriousness, that guy should be fired and the PAC 12 needs to come out stating that only the officials in the game and command center can make that call.
I think they'd better focus on their current woeful season.csewe fans saw this article and are still butt hurt about 2017 RMS
If that is the case, then absolutely Larry Scott needs to be fired.I'm pretty sure the dude was interfering because Larry wanted him to interfere and had arrange for him to be there. Can't really fire someone for doing what the boss wanted. Now about that boss...
I watched that travesty in Sewall Hall!Reminds me when an Olympic official out of the stands to hand the Soviets a gold medal in the 1972 Olympics basketball final.
Now we know why Landman was called for targeting and the ASU guy was not in last week's game. The fix is in. A "third party", (Vegas) makes the calls. IMO the Landman tackle was a true form tackle(turned head, lead with shoulder, wrapped up, little helmet contact if any) and the ASU hit was the definition of targeting(launch, helmet contact, no wrap up). Called incorrectly both times and with both calls being the exact opposite of the rules.
Yeah, to me both were kind of incidental facemask to helmet contact that could have been waived off. But if you're going to confirm one, you can't cancel the other. At least the officials on the field were being consistent by calling both.I know you're (probably?) being sarcastic, but this kind of nonsense does open the door for all sorts of corruption.
