Ten Wins!!!!

At first I agreed with you, then was reminded by others here how long it's been. Rushing the field because you're excited about The Rise is okay with me. BTW, rushing against a team is a compliment to that team, not mocking them.
I would agree that rushing the field is a compliment to the other team, but also a reflection of our own expectations. Rushing the field means you think the other team isn't just good, but that they are great, that they have a tradition of excellence. Or that the game was really important (ie. conference championship on the line). None of these things apply to the coug. Rushing the field after a nice win (which is what WSU was) means you don't believe in yourself and your ability to beat good teams or just are too clueless to understand what a really big win is. I would say that the current students probably fall in both those categories. Due to the long dry years they both lack confidence and not understanding what a big win is.
Teach them we must.....
Then let them feel the power of the dark side and how to let the hate flow through them.

Again - we have sucked for the entire time that these students have been there. Hell, we've sucked for most of the time they've been alive.

For those of us who remember us being an elite program, it might seem excessive, but these guys don't think of us that way. They're experiencing this for the first time. Cut them some slack on the rushing the field.

As for the CSU thing, **** that. We need to nip that in the bud.

If the students are 4th year seniors, we won 10 games combined in their first three years before 2016, went 2-1 against CSU, and (obviously) didn't go to any bowl games.

If they were Colorado HS school students, over the summer and winter breaks, all they heard about from their buddies that went to CSU was that the CSU football team was so much better, going to 3 bowl games in a row (now 4), while amassing 25 wins.

Put myself in their shoes and I might be doing the same - no matter how unfortunate it is to have that perspective.

Yes, our current student population needs a serious education on the legacy of the Buffaloes and we need to help them with that.

I was going to post something very similar. This should go away soon, but it is cathartic and in my mind gets a short-term pass (now expired). Plus, we play CSU in hoops this week.

Oh, it will feel good. But this feels pure. This feels special.

I think we feel vindicated for sticking with our team through the last few years. The current euphoria is fresh. But honestly, the win over Notre Dame after losing the prior year was better.

There is more to come...

Oh, I was around for the Orange Bowl win, too. And that rise felt special, and of course the team's dedication to Sal made it more so. But by 1994, if you'll remember, we started expecting things.

Yep. That was the best CU team. I think a future team could rival that. Can you imagine what would have happened if this team had the 1994 level of talent?

What's with the CSEwe talk. I don't get it. They were one of the ten wins; and one of the easier wins at that. They are irrelevant.

UVA has one 10 win season in their entire history (1989). What we've accomplished this year is no small feat (and thank god we're not UVA).

Extremely proud of what we've accomplished, but we are capable of winning the Pac12 and capable of winning game(s) after that. We haven't reached the destination yet.

This is still in progress, so it's fresh. But when we all look back at this season, it's going to be an amazing memory. Year after year of hoping, praying that the Buffs can win six games just to go to a bowl. Only to be disapointed by blow outs and more recently close losses. To put it all together in one season and be ONE win away from the frickin Rose Bowl? CU 2016 will be remembered forever. Not only by Buff fans but by the national media as well. They will be used as the poster child for hope and the example of how quickly things can turn around.

I enjoyed the WSU game it was awesome but watching the students rush the field against them made me want to puke. Have some freaking self respect or at least a little sense of history. This Buffs team is back to dominating bad teams, and beating good teams. Save the field rushes for games where you knock someone off that is ranked higher than you. Otherwise you are doing what was expected.

BTW I also hate when I hear the Overrated Chant - that chant means that you are slamming your own team's win.

My old man thoughts aside I think the kids will get it when we string together winning seasons. The drought of winning has created odd expectations. Also if we can continue putting out teams like this the CSU game will quickly become an after thought like it should be.

Defense wins it this time.
TT P 12 D player of the week.
GB: Buffalo Heart Award should be 1a. Sefo, 1b Lindsay
Wrong
1a. Sefo
1b. Sefo
1c. Sefo
2. S. Liufau

Phil can (and most likely will) win it next year. Absolutely NO ONE deserves it more than Sefo this year.

Don't know where else to hide this:

Watching 9 News this morning and they showed an interview of a fan (student?) from the field last night after the game...for way too long. She was excited (great!) but then talked about the Broncos a lot and then--wait for it--CSU. WTF! She said the only game that used to matter is CSU. I cringed.

I'm happy for our students. Very, very, very happy. And all of our fans. And I understand a decade without good football will create new perceptions. But did you have to validate CSU on the news, and make that stupid game that everybody hates somehow matter?
Have I ever mentioned that I hate the "sucks to be a ### fan" cheer?

They were singing it on the field, on national TV, 2 weeks in a row now.
