They should have put Bevo in a jet-pack.
He don't look to mean to die.I'll bet that dude isn't complaining about the game day atmosphere.
Also, I can't see that guy's "Texas pride" shirt without hearing the same lyrics from Choctaw Bingo. I wonder if that dude is actually Uncle Slayton. He actually looks pretty spry.
I'd kill for a jet-pack!
Damned socialist!Big 12's Bob Bowlsby stepped in it, too.
He said:
"I think if we ever go down the path of creating an employee-employer relationship, we will have forever lost our way," Bowlsby said. "… If you apply any form of the labor theory of value, that is to say the work that goes into something is determinant of the cost, football and basketball players don't work any harder than any other athletes. They don't work harder than swimmers. They don't work harder than field hockey players. They don't work harder than wrestlers. They just happen to have the blessing of an adoring public."
Deadspin is begging a reporter to ask the following question: "So do you think you work harder than your secretary?"

Except for the fact that A&M didn't win a home conference game last year and lost 59-0 at Bama.
What the **** does that have to do with it being a funny line?

Never let truth get in the way of a funny one liner. It may be funny, but it's not exactly true?
That they could have probably used some booze in those games.
That should be reason enough to drink in College Station.Don't have time to find and post the link - but, I guess New York is holding billions of dollars in gold for Texas, and Texas wants it back now. I am serious

"University of Texas Investment Management Company’s board of directors to put nearly 5% of the then-$19 billion university and pension fund they manage into physical gold by converting options into bullion"

Not looking good for Patterson

Yeah. Apparently, he's a very dry business CFO type guy. Which they knew when they hired him. The weird thing is not that he hasn't been able to glad hand with the boosters (donations are flat for 5 years)... the weird thing is that the Texas athletic department managed to lose close to $9 million last year.
Do you think a guy like RG could be on their radar if they move on from Patterson?

Sure. They're probably going to still be confused about what direction they want to go next though. Patterson is a UT grad, he was supposed to be one of them, he was supposed to understand the fanbase, and he's really operated counter to that.
RG would probably do well there, but would he have the perception of being "Texas" enough for them? I don't know, I could see them confine their search to former players or coaches.
They don't want to have to explain losing and the Buffs haven't won enough to put RG in the sights of a program like Texas.

They will try to find somebody who has connections to the school and who has been established as a winner.
:nod:It'll be whoever the big cigars want.
