The 2020 COVID Coaching Carousel

Sark hires Chev, CU hires Herman, profit!

It’s got to be a little nerve wracking to take a job where going 32-18 and winning 4 bowl games in 4 years gets you fired. I understand the resources at UT but still. I suppose even in that scenario there’s 15 million reason to take that risk as a coach.

The only thing I really think I know about Herman is what I've heard, it's his way or no way. Players will find that **** out pretty quick.

I respect the hell out of Sark if he turned this down for the right reasons. Mainly because he considered the impact to his and his family’s well-being.
He seems pretty content at Bama and like it’s put him in a good place personally and professionally. Can’t put a price on that.

If Sark doesn’t take Texas, what job is he holding out for?
If he says no to Texas, then my best guess is that he doesn't want to be a head coach. If he turned down Texas he's not enticed by money (or mo money anyway). I'm guessing that he did a lot of soul searching with his addiction issues and realized that being a OC is much better for his mental health. If he's holding out for the Alabama job he's going to wait a long time. If he actually does get the Alabama job he's primed for a meltdown.

So Klatt thinks Sark was promised the Bama job when Saban retires.

Muschamp was promised the Texas job also, then Mack Brown didn’t retire for 3 more years. I wouldn’t rely on a promise from Alabama unless Saban has promised when he’s out. Still passing up a lot of money in the interim on a promise.
