I’m a little surprised, Georgia doesn’t seem like the kind of place that loses coaches to lateral moves very often. He was making $1.25M at Georgia - that’s top 15 in the nation money for an assistant.

If I had unlimited funds, I would find a new AD who could go and get a name his price.

This would be the right move. RG clearly showed after MT left that he wasn't willing to commit to the recruiting tip-toeing necessary to seriously compete. So all the money in the world wouldn't fix that.

The playoff has been a decisive factor in the death of college football. It’s all about a handful of schools now (Alabama, Georgia, LSU, OU, Clemson, Ohio State, Notre Dame). They offer the most exposure and clearest path to the playoff and therefore keep landing the top recruits, keep winning the most games, keep making the playoffs, keep making the most money which they spend on hiring and keeping the top coaches and building the best facilities to keep landing the top recruits.

Because only 4 teams out of a "league" that's got 4x as many teams as the NFL.

Got to blow up the bowls. Once this is a 16-team tourney with auto-bids, it will be like hoops and create more parity.
