The Four Corners News Page

Now you mention it, they did a reconstruction of the monumnet. I know New Mexico is missing but they might join the Pac some day. I want to see CU's flag higher than three other flags that have shades of RED.

They are our more natural rivals not U$C or ucla.

Wow. They've improved the place since I was there last...like 25 years ago....

Another blog post this morning and will be the final one for today. Here's your news for today!

Arizona Wildcats:

Based on that article, it appears that there is work to do before the game against Toldeo especially the defense. At least the money coming from the new Pac-12 media contract will pay for extra scorekeepers in Tucson.

The Wildcats are now solid at not only starting QB (Matt Scott) but the backup position (B.J. Denker). I'm sure Coaches Graham, Embree, and Wittingham wishes they were more solidified at the QB position at this point. Denker faced the no. 1 defense most of the time in the 100 play scrimmage and did well.

Could J.T. Washington be the next Noel Devine? Just like Devine, he is from Florida. That could mean exciting times ahead for Arizona on offense as I recall the White-Devine duo in West Virigina.

More stuff on the UA running backs. Some speedsters and bruisers in that group.

Arizona State Sun Devils:

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/asu...play-quarterbacks-coach-todd-graham-says.html

ASU could play two QBs this season. I wonder if Coach Graham is either kidding himself or is using this as a way to reduce the three man QB race to two QBs after they return from Camp Tontozona.

ASU's OL is looking to ramp up the running game. This is interesting given that ASU is going from an Air Raid offense to a run heavy offense and given the number of returning starters, I could see ASU struggling this season...or maybe not. This unit did pave the way for Cameron Marshall and his 18 rushing TDs last season so this unit can get it done if they have heart (according to their OL coach).

Colorado:

Tony Jones put 12 more pounds of muscle onto his 5'7" frame and is now at 192 pounds. I have a good feeling about Jones picking up the load on offense as the Buffs will probably spend the 2012 season figuring out who the QB of the future is going to be.

The Buffs are counting on DT Will Periack to be a stud on a CU DL that could be good this year.

Utah:

I know Utah's Peterson was named to the 2012 All 4CSportsBlog Team but it was because there weren't any other good options. If any of the 4C teams are to go bowling this year, the kicking game must be taken care of. Peterson has been overtaken by Nick Marsh in camp. Not good Utes...not good.

Gordon Monson's take on the Utah backup QB race which is between Jon Hays and Travis Wilson. I'm thinking at this point that Wilson could win the #2 job behind Wynn.

This is the first blog without having to look at the Pac-12 Blog on ESPN.com for links. Ted Miller and Kevin Gemmell do fine work on that blog and should be commended. I'm more of an offense guy than a defense guy so don't be surprised if more of my links are on the offensive side.

:thumbsup2:

Thanks, Nash.

You asked for suggestions earlier. One thing that might make sense is to contact the free boards for UA, ASU and UU to let them know you are blogging on AllBuffs and working to build a regional identity within the conference. If they're interested, it would be cool if they'd provide some insights on their upcoming seasons.

I'm hoping to have all the subs to those boards done by the end of this week. I will definetly ask about building the regional identity like the California and Northwest schools. Right now, it appears that we are being referred to as the Mountain schools at this point. I'm not sure if it really has caught on with the media in this instance.

I plan on including message board talk (it's the media of the future) as soon as I know how to find my way through those websites. The days of getting information through one viewpoint are over and including such information will be necessary.

As for blogging on AllBuffs, I will keep the number of blogs down so it doesn't become all NashBuff blogs if you know what I mean. I did the 2012 All 4C Sports Blog football team and I'm thinking that I will do predictions and recaps.

It's just about right. I wouldn't vary much from the detail provided now. Thanks for your efforts!

Thank you for the feedback. I still plan to add message board talk from the free boards of each school to see what the mood is within the fanbase.

Early release of the CSU-CU preview which focuses more on CSU than CU which will be the opposite in Part II next week. I wanted to include message board talk but with RamNation's layout and idiots, I decided to take a pass on that. If I can find a good CSU board, I will post what the mood is like within the CSU fanbase in the days before the game.

It took me a couple of days but I got around to making a new post. I'm at a loss on how UA racked up 600+ yards while only scoring 24 points in their overtime win over Toledo but two long UA TDs were called back so the offensive output could have gotten closer to 800 yards. ASU got 600+ yards of offense while Utah went for 400+ against UNC.

I think fans of both New Mexico schools have to be thrilled with their team's performance this recent weekend.

This is how I would rank the Pac-12 Mountain schools at this point:

1. Arizona
2. Arizona State
3. Utah
4. Colorado

BYU looks like they could be a good team. That Holy War game between them and Utah could be a real good one.

I hope CU picks it up against the Hornets this weekend and puts up at least 400 yards of total offense if not more this weekend. Anything less than 400 yards will be of serious concern by this CU fan.

GO BUFFS!

I know Arizona's numbers on offense were impressive, but points are what is most impressive, and they only got 24 against Toledo in overtime. To me, that qualifies them for being 3/4 in those rankings at this point. JMHO.
