The Mayor's Journey To Election Day

NBADraft.net currently has Spencer going to Utah at pick 35. Would be awesome to see him and Alec on the same team.

Denver would be a good destination for him.

Lawson is entrenched as the starting PG but:

He is injury prone, he seems to miss stretches of games every year.

He is small, teams take advantage of him on the defensive end.

Fornier was drafted to be the future at the SG but so far hasn't taken the reigns.

Spencer would give them a potential answer as the first guard off the bench providing a solid young guy who can play (and defend well) the point but who also has the scoring ability to play the 2 and defend there as well.

Nuggets are fairly veteran heavy at guard. Spencer could give them some versatility and be cheaper than guys they are currently using.

It's also easy to forget that Lawson himself isn't young by NBA standards. He will be going into his 6th season next year.

fwiw, Denver wasn't one of the teams that talked to Dinwiddie at the Chicago combine. It'd be a good story for sure if he got drafted by Denver and had a nice career.

Other thing to consider is the Nuggets already have 13 players under contract (if they opt in on Quincy Millers contract), and their 2nd round pick from last year Joffrey Lauvergne has widely exceeded expectations and is expected to be on the roster next year. The team will need to shed 2-3 contracts off of the roster to make a 2nd round pick get a guaranteed salary. It's much more likely they take a couple foreign guys in the 2nd round as players they can stash and bring over in a couple years.

Rumblings from the team - I expect them to try to swing a major deal this summer. Or at least a few 2-for-1 deals to clear up spots. But you're probably right about the Euro second rounders - that seems to be the team's MO anyway.

are you practicing dunking with your elbows?

Pretty much. But the little guy is at the edge of being able to consistently reach the rim and make shots with it at that height. Hope to move it up to 8 feet by the fall.

Agreed, Denver is unlikely to take Dinwiddie; however, they don't need to talk to a player at the combine who's been playing in their backyard for the last 3 years

I tweeted this out two weeks ago, and stand by it.

He is going to prove all the doubters wrong, just like Dre did.

Wonder if Dre is giving Thunder management to good word about him.

OKC has to worry how long their window of opportunity is going to be open. Spencer may be one of the more mature guys available in the draft and one of the most capable of contributing, even as a bench guy who will be available late in the first round.

He could be a good fit for OKC or SA.

I agree about OKC's window closing. The James Harden deal is not looking good in the long run. More than anything they need depth that can contribute offensively, something that killed them in those playoff losses.
