Watching a Mtn broadcast was like being back in the 80s trying to watch scrambled porn on cable. We're not losing anything if we have to just listen on the radio.
required great hand/eye coordination

Can somebody fill me in on what teams are still in the Mountain West? Didn't Boise already leave? SDSU? I know BYU is gone and obviously Utah and TCU. The only schools I can think of that are still in the conference are WYO, CSU, Air Force and New Mexico. There has to be more than that, though. Right? Hawaii maybe? Fresno?
that reminds me. I talked to direct tv about them getting the PAC and they guy said he still hasn't heard anything. This was just some phone monkey, but no official anything on the internal website he checked (menu and hours for McDonalds)
The desperation on the part of TV networks for content that is not usually recorded (sports) is crazy. I think this may actually be a benefit for the MWC. They have an opportunity to negotiate a deal better than their own network. They are not going to get BCS conference type of money but they will probably be okay.
Very true. I saw a tweet this week that cable lost 1 million subscribers this year and the main thing that kept it from being much worse is live sporting events.

At our house we watch almost no live TV....Recorded show (ff through the commercial), streaming, etc. Sports are about it. As bandwidth gets more better tradition delivery is going to be challenged.

I would have already shut off our DirecTV if it weren't for college & pro football and the NBA playoffs. Just counting the days until those events can be streamed, then it's gonzo to paying $100+/month for a service that was OTA and free when I was a kid.
It's still over the air and free, if you want 5 channels and to be at the mercy of a broadcast signal and an antenna. Of course, if you want more than 1 game on the air at a time, or to be able to watch something other than the normal network crap, you still have the option of paying extra for it.
