Here are some interesting facts about this rivalry you need to know:

Alabama and Auburn did not play each other from 1908 to 1947. During that time Bama went 266-74-20 (2nd highest winning percentage behind Notre Dame), won 5 National Championships while Auburn had a very pedestrian record of 196-136-23 (74th among colleges that are still competing in D1).

The two school presidents scheduled a game in 1948 under threat of the state legislature withholding funds from both schools.

The 'Iron Bowl' was played at Legion Field in Birmingham with a 50/50 split of tickets. Auburn moved their home game to their campus in 1989.

Alabama leads the series 42-34-1. The edge would be greater if the two school had played from 1908-47.

Alabama has won 4 of the last 5 games.

Auburn is a land grant school referred to as 'little brother' by many Alabama fans.

UA fans calls AU fans 'booger eaters', 'boogs', and 'barners'. AU fans calls UA fans 'bammers'.

I dated a barner in high school-it didn't work out.

I am 0-4 at UA/AU games and will not be attending the game this year.

I am face book friends with Harvey Up****.

I think it's reasonable to petition that 'Bama receives credit for a victory every year between 08 and 47. To whom should I address my letter?
 
Auburn at home is about a touchdown better than Washington State. I'm not sure that Bama can handle that.
 
another interesting fact: Harvey's DNA was found at the scene of the tree poisoning, but DNA samples aren't very useful in the state of Alabama since nearly everyone has the same DNA. those that don't are called "Yankees."

Is there some sort of Geneva Convention-like treaty for declaring lawful message board combatants? Thought we were all pretty much fair game.
