This game stunk, it's true. There's no way of dressing up this turd. But to say that these weren't the two best teams in the country is just sour grapes. OSU? Really? C'mon. They'd have gotten mudholed by either of these teams. Mudholed. If you're trying to make the argument that OSU should have been in the game in order to justify having a playoff, just say there should be a playoff. You won't get an argument from me on that one. But to try to say that OSU would have been better than either of these teams is just childish.

I'd prefer 16 myself. Eliminates all possibilities of people grousing about teams that didn't get their fair shot.

8. If you go with 16, #17 & 18 will still whine about not getting in. And I really don't think teams like OU, Clemson and Georgia deserved a shot at the MNC...

My bad, sometimes the decisions Miles makes just leave me shaking my head. You can't have 9 defensive players squatting up 5 yards from the line of scrimmage. They would not have been able to do that with Lee. Sorry, I thought you were saying it was retarded not to stick with Jefferson. The moderator added on 2 letters.

See, I think the #9 team could have a legit case about not getting in, but the #17 team isn't going to win anything. There are some years when teams ranked #9-16 will be pretty average. Most years, though, they'll be decent enough to put a scare into the #1 team and in some cases win the game (CU was ranked #15 when it beat then #1 NU 62-36).
Agree with others, why are you here rubbing this in our face? Surely you have some bama friends you can celebrate this with.

Those teams I listed were #14-16 in the final BCS poll. Sure, they might be able to put a scare into an LSU or Bammer (especially if Les Miles throws the game like he did tonight), but would they deserve to win a NC? All 16 is doing is making teams that have had NC worthy seasons play a game they could potentially lose, and give a team that has no claim on a NC the chance to play spoiler. To me a team should have to at least earn a spot in the top 8 to have a chance to play in the tourney.

They lose a lot to graduation on defense, and LSU may have a quarterback who could crack the two deep at Fort Lewis. And they've got to go to Baton Rouge next year.
But maybe the voters will take pity on them and give them a second chance again...
OSU is better than both these teams. I didn't realize having opinions made me childish but it makes you somehow smart and noble?

First, Charles is generally a good poster but deserves all the **** we are giving him. I don't think most is would go to another team's fan site and rub it in. Bad form Sir Charles.
Second, yeah, maybe OSU would have gotten "mudholed." But didn't they say the same about CU when we played Texas in the Championship Game in '01? As they say, that's why they play the game.
Finally, a six ****ing week layoff has a huge affect on the quality of play. It is absurd, really, to decide a MNC by sitting teams for a month and a half and then having them go at it.

Miles was completely out coached. He had over a month to prepare for the game , and basically did all the same things he did in the first game. For the first 3 quarters he didn't throw a pass on first down. Since there was a possibility that the option and running game would not work - and it did not - what was his plan B. He didn't have one. WTF, you are getting paid $4 million, and you didn't include an optional game plan. He also only threw the ball downfield only twice the entire game. If Jefferson isn't getting the job done - put in Lee or Mettenberger. No excuses - Alabama kicked our ass big time.

The thought down here from some is that CLM was in CNS head. CLM had beat him two in a row including that embarrassing loss at home this year. The real Les showed up today and I think the corndogs are back to where they were with him a year or so ago-great recruiter and motivator but a terrible tactician.

FWIW when we beat the teasips two years ago I got bqlanned for life from a gata board. Any Bama board is going to be like new soap day in a prison shower and I just stay away.
